Close Button Closes Spotify [Windows]

Or at least minimize it to a tray Icon. But I would say close it. Maybe this is more of an opinion, but I've only used 2 programs that are this bad. Skype and Spotify. And Skype is a really bad program.  So I don't know why in Spotify, the Close and Minimize button do the same exact thing. I would like a quick way to close the program and stop the musik.  This is mainly a problem for me on Windows 7 and I believe linux is very similar.

Hey everyone. This feature was implemented for Windows users in our latest update (1.0). You can read more about this update here. Thanks for your kudos and feedback here in the Idea Exchange.

As long as there is a way to close the client fully then why does this matter? I know its bad UI design, I know it shouldn't be wrong but it never really bothers me. I just leave it running in the background.

I think the main reason this is implemented like this is because Spotify like you to leave you client running to keep the peer-to-peer network up and running with lots of clients connected.

I think it's funny that Spotify doesn't think this issues fits into it's "user experience philosophy." Haha, **bleep** you too Spotify. Listening to your customers is so cliche, am I right? It's so simple to fix, Spotify. Get your act together.

The level of obnoxiousness here is insane. It's like "No, I'm Spotify, I close when I want to close." As if your software is so essential to my computer that it needs to be running all the time. This, combined with a multitude of other annoying "features" is making me really wish there was a decent competitor to Spotify, because I would switch over to a no-bull**bleep** service in a heartbeat. I'm probably making a big deal about this, but it's just one of those small things that tells me a lot about the personality of a company and it's developers.

Anyone used rdio or xbox music? Do they have retarded "user experiences" as well? I'm thinking of switching but they all have subscription-only models so I wanna do some research first..

By the way the "minimize to tray" feature doesn't work in windows 7. **bleep** you again spotify, now I have this super important application always right in front of my face. I wanna punch it so bad, but I can't.

Deleted. Account closed. Blarrghhh...

Your user experience philosophy needs some SERIOUS HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The "X" button QUITS the program.

The "-" MINIMIZES it.

Do not make X = How does this make any sense? It'd be just as messed up if you made - = X

When I want to QUIT the program I want to QUIT IT. Stop making me right click and "QUIT".

YOU ARE ANNOYING!

I will rufuse to give in to any adds or pay for Spotify until this gets resolved.

Throwing in my support.  I just tried Spotify today and mostly like it, but this is bad UI choice, to the point of being inherently dishonest.  The stated policy essentially being "We want our program to always be running, so we're willing to disregard a convention that's been around since Windows 3.1 (at least) and annoy all our users", I'm quitting before I get attached to the service.

This is really frustrating. The minimise button should minimise the application and the close button should close/exit the application. This behaviour is really frustrating.

Could you please make spotify behave like almost every other windows application.

Or at least give me an option to choose whether or not I want the close button to close the application or not.

I really thought that your user experience philosophy was to make the customers happy as most other companies.

Your comment is giving me the message that you do not really care about what the users that are actually paying your salary think of the application.
