Discount Family Subscriptions!

Before I made the switch from Rdio to Spotify they (Rdio) came up with a pricing model that allowed families to purchase a slightly discounted subscription.

$9.99 for single unlimited user

$17.99 for 2 family members (20% discount)

$22.99 for 3 family members (50% discount)

Would love to see a similar pricing model so the rest of the family could get in on the action!

Hey folks! We've introduced Spotify Family. With Premium for Family, you and up to 5 members of the same household can each enjoy their own Premium account. All for one discounted price of $14.99.

Thanks for your kudos in the Community--we want your feedback.

It's ludicrouse that for 8.99 per month Netflix will allow me full HD video on 4 devices, but a purely audio program such as Spotify will only let me listen live on a single device.

Greedy, disappoting, Spotify - i am leaving you for another service.

Here I am in Canada and sadly Spotify Family is not available.  After only three days of paying for Spotify Premium for myself, this purchase is impacting my relationship with my partner of 30 years and not in  a good way..

You want to be kind.  " Sure - go ahead and use my computer to find that song you are looking for about some old dog named Shepp that you ar fixiated on at this particular moment(?)"  The next thing you know, it's a pre-dementia mission and you are both starting to negotiate for Spotify time in a way that you have never negotiated before.  And believe me, having been married three times, this is not my first rodeo - nor is it his. But that's another story and it his to tell - certainly not mine.

Like many baby boomers, we are getting older.  Living in the past more.  Our musical history brings us pictures that we finally have the time and the head space to brouse around it.  But like many, we are on fixed income.  It was a big decision to  pay the $ for a monthly subscription for one.   And now that we are well and truly hooked on Spotify, we have to  make the decision of which hours one or the other of us, can have control of the music we both listen to.  Believe me, my husband is a lovely, lovely man but he likes liver and I hate it.  It's a bit the same with music.  I think you know what I mean.

While our age group is obviously not a growing population.  We are the ones that are most likely to forget we have it turned on, on our phones or ipads so our hours of use can't be insignificant.   Ok.  You don't owe us anything really.  Forget that we are your parents or grandparents for a minute.  Surely if not a "family"rate  in Canada, maybe a two for one senior rate would be something to think about.  After all, alot of that great old rock and roll music so many people listen to, came from us.

What do you think?

I hate to help the big guys win but unfortunately I moved to Apple Music for families and its easy and a lot less expensive than the Spotify alternative. For some reason Spotify don't care about losing customers and pay absolutely no heed to comments from their community - usually a sign that they've now got too big to care about customers!!

Agreed. My husband recently signed up for spotify premium and I made him cancel it... But then I signed up for the free trial and now, I wish there was a way for us to share a premium account (our family account).

No wonder so many people go with Apple, even though they use child-worker-factories to produce their hardware very cheaply and then sell it at a disgusting profit.

Steve Jobs is no hero in my eyes.

I wanted to try Spotify premium for €0,99 for 3 months. But then I accidentally pressed Family, now I can't reverse this?

You should contact customer support through this link:

https://support.spotify.com/contact-spotify-support/

They'll help you out. They take, at the most, 24 hrs to get back to you.

Don't forget to check your spam folder for responses as they may end up there.

If you get an automated email directing you to the community or help pages, you need to reply directly to that email (even if its from a no-reply address) and one of the customer services agents will get back to you.

Sorry.  I know you think this is a good thing.  But let's be serious here.  A savings of a dollar or so per person, is just a courtesy - it isn't an indication that your organization has  a real commitment to customers.   In fact I think it is just the opposite.

And it gets even better ... now an even more discounted family plan! Well done Spotify. Thank you!

YAY!  I've started a new subscription today!  This brings me back.  Thanks, Spotify!  Bravo!
