Discount Family Subscriptions!

Before I made the switch from Rdio to Spotify they (Rdio) came up with a pricing model that allowed families to purchase a slightly discounted subscription.

$9.99 for single unlimited user

$17.99 for 2 family members (20% discount)

$22.99 for 3 family members (50% discount)

Would love to see a similar pricing model so the rest of the family could get in on the action!

Hey folks! We've introduced Spotify Family. With Premium for Family, you and up to 5 members of the same household can each enjoy their own Premium account. All for one discounted price of $14.99.

Thanks for your kudos in the Community--we want your feedback.

Unfortunately, I'm having to cancel my account this evening as I now have 3 teenagers that would like to listen as well and we just can't justify that much money every month when it's cheaper just to buy the songs on iTunes and share them with one account.  The service has been great and I'm truly bummed about having to part ways.

Thanks,

Ryan

The lack of a family plan is the main thing keeping me from upgrading to any of the premium services--I'd want to upgrade my wife as well, and at the moment I have a hard time justifying $20/mo just for Spotify.

Actually...I'd be happy with a (reasonably priced) metered-listening, add-free, available-on-mobiles plan (i.e., pay-per-song, with a monthly recharge). Assuming the per-song price is low enough, it seems like this could substantially increase your market penetration--even with the slightly increased "friction" of a per-song cost.

Huge fan of a family pricing discount option. Just voicing my vote.

This is a great idea for an already fantastic service.

Currently my wife and I share a premium account, and the 3-device limit for offline and 1-device limit for streaming can be problematic. Two phones, a tablet, and three different computers between work and home, plus Sonos, all of them used under different circumstances and independently....you get the picture. It would be nice if Spotify offered an easy way to accommodate our household usage (like iCloud's 10-device limit). One can easily imagine a plan that assumes two users and doubles the devices for offline and streaming.

I just got  Sonos speakers for Christmas.  It's crazy that I can't have spotify #1 in the kitchen (via my iPhone) and spotify #2 in my living room (via my husband's android) on the same account.  Please get this sorted Spotify.  (And I know about the offline option but it doesn't really cut it)

Please keep it up for consideration.  I now have 3 family members all paying for Premium.  Even if it's just a small discount would make me happy.  Thanks

Particularly with Spotify now being available on Roku (!) this makes a lot of sense.  It would be nice to be able to be able to listen at work while family members listen at home, without having to hassle with multiple accounts/playlists on the Roku.

I'm a spotufy premium subscriber. I use spotufy at home with my sonos system. I"d love to share spotufy playlist with my kids and wife, all of whom love music. But individual premium accounts are too much. Plus I'd like to have all our playlists available to the sonos system, which connects to a single account.

It would be best if we had one spotufy that we could share and that would pull our playlists in to whatever devices we may have in our home - iPods, ipads, sonos, marantz receiver, Samsung smarttv, allshare devices, whatever.

Thanks for making a great service.

I just gave my 17 year old daughter a new iPod touch, I'd live to be able to put her on a Spotify Family plan.  But I can't justify yet another monthly $10 premimium chrage.

When will afamily plan become reality?

It may be time to look at other family friendly services...
