Discount Family Subscriptions!

Before I made the switch from Rdio to Spotify they (Rdio) came up with a pricing model that allowed families to purchase a slightly discounted subscription.  

$9.99 for single unlimited user

$17.99 for 2 family members (20% discount)

$22.99 for 3 family members (50% discount)

Would love to see a similar pricing model so the rest of the family could get in on the action!

Spotify - just to let you know that I am cancelling my 3 full subscriptions and moving them all to Rdio.

As much as I love Spotify, Rdio has a family plan and pretty mucg does everything that I can do on Spotify.

dear sportify the Price for my 4 member family  in Denmark will be app. 60 euro or usd 75 for that price I can have a desant broadband connection and free music from one of the danios international supplies so this is fare to expensive.  So you really have to find a solution otherwise the families will find other solutions.

Definitely want to put my vote in for this option. I would definitely go for a discount family plan.

Would prefer devices rather than users in a family: 

100% for first device

50% for second device

25% for thrid device

12.5% for fourth device

That would mean a monthly cost £18.25 for four devices in the UK. That would cover most family situations. In fact, two simultaneous devices is probably sufficient for most families.

Otherwise it is off to Rdio in the new year.

It would make a lot of sense for you guys to offer a premium family membership package with some kind of reduction.  Rdio, as seen above, does: 22.99 for 3 accounts versusd 29.97 for three premium spotify accounts.

When will this happen?

Almost 2 years into this discussion and no updates or plans announced. I have been a Spotify customer since Day 1 in the US and opted in to premium as soon as I could. I love the service, but with a wife and 4 kids who love music at home, I need a service that is flexible and matches our lifestyle and listening habits without costing me a fortune every month. I fear that if there isn't an update to this soon, I'll be forced over to a service like Rdio that offers that kind of flexibility.

one device at a time streaming is a no go for me. Add multiple streaming devices (min. 3) and/or family plan as suggested by a lot of folks here or I will not use beyond 30 day trial. Pandora and many others support this model, this is not a security issue as outlined by Spotify team.

To play on more than once device from the same subscription is a must have for me, when, if ever, are you guys planning to implement this ? Its not difficult but you obviously have to prioritize it.

Maybe the Netflix guys can provide consulting thought i guess the commercial issues are the toughest (Netflix sorted that one out also)

It would be very much appreciated if Spotify would offer a similar plan to Rdio's Unlimited Family. 

Very sad that it takes this long. I switched from Spotify to Rdio back in 2012 because of this missing feature (among others) and was just checking the status of this topic to see if switching back to Spotify would make sense. Too bad this is still unsolved - unexplainable why this takes sooo long. 😞
