Discount Family Subscriptions!

Before I made the switch from Rdio to Spotify they (Rdio) came up with a pricing model that allowed families to purchase a slightly discounted subscription.  

 

$9.99 for single unlimited user

$17.99 for 2 family members (20% discount)

$22.99 for 3 family members (50% discount)

 

Would love to see a similar pricing model so the rest of the family could get in on the action!

Hey folks! We've introduced Spotify Family. With Premium for Family, you and up to 5 members of the same household can each enjoy their own Premium account. All for one discounted price of $14.99.

Great to see that you finally added a real music library, now add a family plan! I really like the new look and features of Spotify, but I won't give up paying $10 and being able to stream to 3 devices at the same time with Rhapsody.

Would have 4-5 accounts if they did this? Currently considering other solutions that are family friendly. C'mon Spotify!!! Make this happen. How difficult can it be to offer discounts / additional users under a family like account??? #longoverdue #nobrainer #cmonspotify

Hm, "under consideration for +2 years"... Seems like this is not happening. For me it means I have to consider alternatives. 6 premium accounts is just way too expensive. Spotify is the best music service around imo, but the pricing model just doesn't fit my situation. 😞

major kudos that they are considering... major boo  -  hiss to estimated price.. HBO, Showtime offer free streaming on any number mobile devices with reg. cable subscription, Pandora has no limits, Netflix has a raher high number of permissible devices that can be logged in...

this is dealbreaker... all theose services are less expensive .. again deal breaker i would be premium subscriber if.. just saying

As long as you leave the Single Subscription as it is, I can support concept of family plans other wise. I'll say keep it as it is.

Or maybe Spotify can have something like Netflix to where you can have multiple Users with their own music AND while still being able to use on multiple devices. That would work so much better! This way my two sons and I can all listen to our own music whenever without interuptions.

Spotify, seriously, GET A FAMILY PLAN... I dont even care if it's discounted, can be same 9.99 per month per user as single user is... JUST NEED THE CONVENIENCE of managing the families music in ONE acct... 

 

On a another note, there are other services that offer this now, you should have been in front of this and not a follower...

Yeah come on Spotify... this is taking too long. Here in Denmark you charge 99 DKR (more than $18) for a single user premium account. With a family of four, that would be 396 DKR or $73 each month. Thats absurd. Netflix charge me 129 DKR / $23 a month for 4 simultaneous users on their service. Go figure...
