Discount Family Subscriptions!

Before I made the switch from Rdio to Spotify they (Rdio) came up with a pricing model that allowed families to purchase a slightly discounted subscription.

$9.99 for single unlimited user

$17.99 for 2 family members (20% discount)

$22.99 for 3 family members (50% discount)

Would love to see a similar pricing model so the rest of the family could get in on the action!

Hey folks! We've introduced Spotify Family. With Premium for Family, you and up to 5 members of the same household can each enjoy their own Premium account. All for one discounted price of $14.99.

Thanks for your kudos in the Community--we want your feedback.

I've preferred Spotify over itunes but if you need a real family plan
where everyone doesn't live in the same house, itunes is the answer. The
selection and 'quality' of sound is the same.

I'm sorry Spotify didn't pick up on this. We have 6 family users
enjoying itunes on multiple devices - with no constraints like Spotify -
and signed up.

I'm not sure what Spotify is thinking. Sound quality is no different.

Absolutely have same sentiment. I like Spotify, but if they could use the same model or better that iTunes has for Family Members. In the meantime, I will chase iTunes to discuss a subscription with spotifuggle on the back burner..

Thanks

They have a market but they chose to ignore it. Don't know how to read
that. Are they for sale or are they simply incompetent? Anyway, doesn't
matter. There's an alternative.

Doesn't Spotify read any of their forums to get a grip on business.

I have a Vodafone account for my phone.  I want to be able to use it on a sonas system at home but this isn’t available through the phone subscription.  When I go to log in to Premium it refeers me back to Vodafone.

Hey @jjhigg,

Try logging into your Spotify profile on your browser here with your email. Your username will be displayed after you login.

After that, check the status of your subscription. If everything looks ok, logout of the app in your sonos, and be sure to use that username, instead of your email address, to login to your account. It's the one with the Premium features, which will let you use it in your Sonos system.

Hope it helps. 🙂

Doesn't look like I can set up a Family subscription - I'm based in NZ so wondering if there's a restriction on this service in NZ?

Hello,

I have Spotify Premium and started with the Family contract. I wanted to add my son to the program but I it seems I can't add him because he is based in a different country... He actualy lives with me at home... Now where comes the difference from:

1) I live in Belgium but use a Dutch Credit Card;

2) In my spotify profile it says Belgium country the same as my son....

Not sure if Facebook settings might have an impact here as well...?

Thanks, Martijn

I have a premium family account. We've followed the directions for adding my additional users on my account. Problem is: if more than 1 person is on spotify, it won't let us listen to our individual playlists, we are all having to listen to the same songs from the account holders choice in music, then if another member changes the song, it changes what i was listening to to that song. Is this how the family account works??? If so, its ridiculous,  and id love recommendations for a family account from another app!
