Landscape orientation on Android

I use my iphone in my car for navigation and music. I prefer for my phone to be mounted in landscape orientation for navigation purposes, but the spotify app is hard to use when it is sideways.  constantly changing the orientation is inconvenient.  Could spotify implement a landscape orientation? even if it lacks some of the less important features.

We are happy to announce that landscape mode is now on Android!

In order to be fair with iPhone users (half of the comments in this idea support iPhone) we have created a new idea just for iPhone users and added half of the kudos you folks added to this one.

I understand that the development team want to address fixes first, if these are serious and is giving users problems. However please keep in mind that we're talking about mobile phones here. They are by nature supposed to be used in both portrait AND landscape mode. There are even (new) mobile phone models where the (official) docks only come with support for landscape mode. Missing such an essential (and relative simple) functionality seems like a major flaw and likely preventing some from using Spotify. Spotify is one of my favorite apps and together with TuneIn Radio Pro (which does landscape mode nicely) my most used app. However the competitors are on the doorstep....

You can use Orientation control to get Spotify to behave the way it should.

I have a Nexus 7 which has the data and head phone jack at the bottom, which is fine if I'm holding it but a reqal pain in the backside if I want to put in on a stand. Spotify is one of the few apps which does not rotate unfortunately.

I'd be happy if it just rotated 180°.

Like a lot of other people have said - I would happily pay for premium service if the android app had the ability to rotate.  It's just about impossible to use in my car dock, and 90% of the time I listen to music, is in my car.  I'm the manager of a cell phone store, and help customers setup music apps all the time.  I would suggest spotify if it had landscape mode, but for now, I guess Pandora will be my first suggestion.

Please, please Spotify sort out the rotation as mentioned above on a Nexus 7 its a royal pain ......

This is a must for tablet users as well since most stands put the tablet in a landscape mode. I am using a Nexus 7 and the Android app works great unless I am using the stand which is 80% of the time.

My problem is that i am paying for this service monthy and this could be a deal breaker for me, i love spotify but i really can't use it on my Tablet.
