Landscape orientation on Android

I use my iphone in my car for navigation and music. I prefer for my phone to be mounted in landscape orientation for navigation purposes, but the spotify app is hard to use when it is sideways.  constantly changing the orientation is inconvenient.  Could spotify implement a landscape orientation? even if it lacks some of the less important features.

I think this would be an awesome feature, and not that hard to implement. Millions of tablets are being sold and are a lof of them are finding their way into cars are a fixed media hub (mines is), and with most tablet docks being landscape, it makes sense to actually make provisions for this within the app.

There are various apps that will force rotate any apps, and it works fine with spotify, but you get a small cover art, unlike when it is in portrait mode, a cover art about half the size of the screen.

Also, to have a carousel cover art like google play would look just so much better. It would be easier to use and just be more convenient, ie:

Having jus done a custom install for an iphone into the dash of my BMW I was annoyed to notice that I cannot read the spotify app as it doesn't rotate.

I have an ipad and I'm pretty sure it does on there, so why not on the iphone or android?

I have a Galaxy Note 2 and if I mount it vertically on my dash, it's really visually obtrusive.  The lack of landscape support is a big thing holding me back from upgrading to a premium account.

Really annoying:  I have a Droid 4.  It has a pull-out keyboard that I like using for text.  If I want to input any text, the lack of landscape orientation means that any text I type is sideways.

It's not just for car docks!

To me this is a vital feature, not a option.

Most of my mobile music is played while in the car in a dock on landscape. Because of this lack of rotation I tend to listen to my other music options in the car and not as much spotify because of the difficulty in making changes while driving.

This leads me to the conclusion that if I need to use other music aps to play my music when driving, why have spotify?

Please implement rotation ASAP.

Kanonbra Android-app efter senaste uppdateringen! Nu saknas bara som ovan nämnt att kunna rotera skärmen till landskapsläge, väldigt irriterande när man har Nexus 7:an monterad som navigator i bilen, eller stående på stereon....

This is an absolutely necessary feature. Without it Spotify is unusable on my asus transformer. It seriously needs to be fixed very soon.

Giving this kudos as well.  I'm using Spotify now as a SiriusXM replacement, and the current layout for a car is not only difficult, it's at times dangerous.

I'd recommend the devs get to work on something like this immediately.. or maybe not just a rotated landscape mode, but a setting for a "car mode" (since alot of ppl on here are using it for that), where everything is landscaped and larger, with 4 or 5 buttons you can assign to playlists that act as "stations" or something.
