Smart shuffle is a fun way to discover new songs, but it comes at a cost. Want to reshuffle your queue? Bam, wait a few seconds longer. Want to unshuffle your playlist? Bam, no longer works, and goes to a completely random place in the playlist.

To me this is an unwanted complication, and I'd much rather be able to choose in the settings menu whether I want to enable the Smart Shuffle feature, or disable it.

@spotify please listen to us! if you believe, this smart shuffle is the next big thing- ok.

But please, PLEASE, let the (paying) users to AT LEAST disable it! it is soo anoying that you need always to wait if you get the smart shuffle ...

introducing new features is ok. but not forcing people to use them.

The loading is so annoying when I just wanna turn shuffle off or reshuffle

I find the feature very helpful to find new songs and it is amazing. I have only one problem with it, that the feature sometimes feels unstable and freezes my Spotify when i try to change from “shuffle song” to “chronological order” i always have to press Smart shuffle aswell and sometimes i have to restart the Spotify app on my IPhone, because it completely freezes. What I think would be a better solution, is if you want to press smart shuffle you would maybe need to hold the shuffle icon for a few seconds and then it would activate this feature and to turn it off you just need to tap it like you normally would. I would appreciate it if the devs see this idea and implement this small change.

It is incredibly frustrating to toggle through because you have to wait for it to load to turn off shuffle altogether. It would be great to either remove it or allow us to turn it off

I was down to give Smart Shuffle a try, but it's a NO for me. Wish I could just get rid of the feature entirely! Please make it fo away.

Maybe this proposal might not be bad. Let there be an option to switch between three options on the playlist page, as it is now, i.e. playback in order, shuffle and smart shuffle, and on the player page, let there be two options, playback in order and shuffle. Those who want smart shuffle will find this function, those who want to quickly switch without smart shuffle will also have this option. Perhaps everyone would be satisfied with this solution

To me, smart shuffle is only frustrating. Feels like an ilness. It gets turned when I want to switch between normal shuffle and disabled shuffle. And then I have to wait for minutes to get rid of it, as it freezes my Spotify app.

@spotify: please help us disable smart shuffle permanently or at least harder to enable (via separate button?).

This is so darn frustrating and a waste of lifetime when the app just stops working when accidentally enabling it.

Does anybody know how the Apple Music experience compares? I'm a runner (and a paying Spotify customer) who does not want to stop when some algorithm decides because I'm playing 70s music I need to hear Jimmy Buffet. That's AI for you.

It's so stupid in every way.

As people have already said, if you want to re-shuffle your playlist you have to wait a couple of seconds for it to switch on and then a couple more for it to switch off. 

But another thing that is stupid is if you just want to turn off shuffle and listen to your songs in order you can't. As in if you press the shuffle button, it then switches to smart shuffle and then when you press it again it disables shuffle, but for some reason it also clears your whole queue. So now you have to re-play the playlist so that your songs can be in your queue. 

This was a good feature when it was just the "Enhance" button but now it's making me want to use the app less
