[Radio] Modifiable Thumbs up/down

1) Change Thumbs up to Thumbs Down

2) Change Thumbs down to Thumbs up

3) Remove thumbs up

4) Remove thumbs down

5) See a list of your thumbs up for a playlist

All of these should exist, if not in the app at least on the website.

Updated on 2019-05-23

Hey folks,

It seems like this idea has evolved into a lot of different threads over the years. Quite a lot of the features requested do exist, so I'm going to mark this as implemented - but if you feel like your specific idea isn't there please feel free to make a new idea

As a heads up, Thumbs up/down has been replaced by the Heart/Remove symbol across all platforms. Let's address some of the main ideas that have been implemented:

  • It is now possible to undo Heart or Dislike actions in your Daily Mixes, Discover Weekly and Release Radar. If you Heart a song, simply tap the Heart again to get rid of it.
  • When tapping the Dislike button, you'll get a choice of 'Don't play this song' or 'Don't play this Artist'. Tapping either will prompt an Undo option at the bottom of the screen for if you hit it by mistake, or your cat walked over your screen (@dredel)

  • Tapping Heart will save that song to Your Library, so you can head there to check out all the songs you've liked. This will also include Songs and Albums you've saved in other areas of the app. I couldn't find an idea for a playlist specifically of just liked songs (without the rest of the library) so it would be a good suggestion for a new idea.

I hope this clears some things up.

Still nothing on this? Not being able to remove Thumbs Up/ Thumbs Down ruined my radio station.  It completely changed it from classic rock to only Dave Matthews Band (I like DMB, but the idea was to get a mix of the two genres).  I hope this feature gets fixed soon or I might have to try and find a better service that does this.

I would really like the ability to delete radio stations I've created and start over from a fresh seed. The radio seems to do a great job of picking songs as long as I don't thumbs up/down anything. As soon as I add my preferences everything falls apart.

I'd like to get my decent radio stations back.

At the very least, I'd like to be able to reset ratings.  I've given a few ratings to my Starred list that have severely limited what gets played, making what is potentially a very cool feature useless.

One option would be to use a Slacker-like feature to determine how much of what's layed is a result of ratings, allowing me to continue to refine ratings since different songs will be played.

Is this the only suggestion for fixing the horrible usability problems with radio related to thumbs up/thumbs down?  Because I can't believe this isn't at the top of the list of kudos'd suggestions.  At the very least make it so we can re-start a station from scratch based on the same things we used to start the station in the first place: artist, song, playlist.  This is ridiculous.  To "fix" a radio station (set it back to its start-up state), which is ruined because 1) it's created from a playlist containing a VERY wide range of styles/artists and 2) I thumbed up one song on the list, which promptly excluded 98% of the other styles on the playlist, I can:

1. Create an entirely new spotify account, subscribe to the playlist from there, create a station from it, or

2. Copy/recreate the entire 945 track playlist, call it something different, and create a new station from that.

As far as I can tell those are my only two options.  That's absurd.

Like others here I am extremely surprised this isn't the top issue for everyone. I just had my first accidental thumbs up/down and have just torpedo'd one of my radio stations. My first instinct was that I would just click the appropriate thumb and move on - instead I'm left with pretty much no good options. This has also made glaringly apparent the general lack of features on the radio stations.

This isn't something I'm going to leave spotify over, however it is certainly going to change my use of service. Also reading through the comments on this thread has me realizing just how 'narrow' my stations have become from my thumbs up/down votes. I think I'm just going to skip tracks from here on out so I can at least maintain their variability.

Please, please add some features to the radio stations. I understand this may not be a main priority but at least let the community members concerned about this know we're being heard and that it is something you'll address at some point. Thanks.

Hey folks! We just wanted to post to say we're here and listening. We don't have a current update for this Idea but please keep your comments and feedback coming.

We're continuing to pass your kudos on and we'll update you here if there's any news.

Thanks everyone!

I would consider going premium for a fix. ty.

It would be really great to be able to undo my mistake. I fat fingered the thumbs down when pulling my phone out of my pocket, which of course I forgot to lock.

I agree. When i'm working late its easy to click unlike instead of like.

I accidentally clicked 'thumbs down' on a track in the radio

Can't go back or find the previous songs played in the radio?

Seems wierd.

On the otherside - i later chose 'thumbs up' on a track to find i didnt like it.

Clicked the 'thumbs down' but i couldnt change the rating.
