[Social] Bring back Inbox/Messaging with Notifications

The Inbox/Messaging feature did not get a real shot at even being a feature because Spotify took away notifications for new messages. Give Inbox/Messaging some development so users can continue to privately share songs.

**bleep** YEAH +1 I'm always sending my friends new artists and sick playlists. I was just about to today, and then it's gone. Also you're right, Spotify seemed to hate it from the start not making it THAT big of a thing/any real support.

Also when we getting lyrics back??

This feature should definitely be brought back but with new notifications. Of course it's rarely used when nobody ever knows that they've received a message.

The only reason people didn't use it that much because it has never worked well.. it's been buggy and pretty much hidden away. Nevertheless, it was an integral part of my Spotify experience - being able to toss a track or an album to a friend to listen when they have the time, without having to engage with some social messaging app that gets their full on attention every time I find some buttery AOR tune to share.

I'm not going to be able to say anything new. I LOVE direct messaging songs/ and custom made playlist to certain people. Its like finding something just for them and them letting them know about a song they wouldnt found without your help!! This feature is so important to me and my friends that I share music with!! One of the main reasons I have premium!!

Being spotify premium user from the begining I never had somehing bad to say about it, but now I do and this is dissapoiting. Such a great feature to share music with your friends within the platform without steping out to other social media chanels. Please, spotify, BRING IT BACK!

I second this idea.

I love hearing a new song and thinking "Friend X will probably like this, it fits her/his taste". I used to be able to share this song easily via the message function. Now I have to share the song with everyone, when I want to share it with one person specifically.

It was also a very convenient way of remembering a song you heard at a friends when they were playing their music. "Oh, I love that song. Could you send it to me real quick?" And three clicks later you had it saved and could listen to it back home and integrate it into your digital music collection.
I had quite a lot of these songs saved that way, and vice versa a lot of songs I had sent to friends, and now their not accessible at all anymore 😞

At first I used to get notifications about new messages, which didn't appear anymore at some point. Just recently I noticed I had a bunch of songs sent to me I had not even noticed. Now the whole function is gone.

Please bring back the message function and ALSO THE NOTIFICATIONS. They were such a basic feature of the site.

Spotify - I have an idea for you. Get rid of the 'play' button and those pesky little triangles by each track; then after a few weeks get rid of the ability to listen to music, as there won't be much call for it, and your lives will be easier still!
