[Social] Bring back Inbox/Messaging with Notifications

The Inbox/Messaging feature did not get a real shot at even being a feature because Spotify took away notifications for new messages. Give Inbox/Messaging some development so users can continue to privately share songs.

This was a feature that Spotify removed around five years ago. I was very sad to see it go. 

It was wonderful sharing music with friends that way, instead of having to send a link to a song through an app or text.

This would be great. It would be nice to see notifications in Spotify again. You tap on it, and there's a song, playlist, artist, or album for you to check out. It'd be really great, in cases where you're following people that you knew, but lost contact with. Songs may help them know who you are.

We can already leave comments on podcast episodes, which is basically just sending messages to the host. I'm figuring that it's implied in this idea, that text would be able to be sent as well. It would be silly to not have the capability to send context of why you sent a song.

It would be perfect to use in conjunction with listening parties (group sessions), but this idea makes too much sense. I doubt that Spotify would take it on. It should've been implemented years ago.

it breaks my heart to know that i could not let the other person know how many songs have helped me feel better from their playlist. please add this message feature sooner so we can let eachother know how much we appreciate them and music

Been on Spotify since before it hit the states.  This was in the original version of the app, but they removed it because it was a genuinely useful and novel feature. Users were having too much fun easily sharing music within the app so they pulled the plug. Users should have to take the most circuitous, laborious route when using the service

i dont rlly have much to say but yall.........wouldnt that be so fun?!?!?!? like if someone makes a playlist that we love, we can thank them. and we would be able to see what our friends are listening to if theyre active PLUS chatting with them! that sounds so fun to me 🙂
