[Social] Bring back Inbox/Messaging with Notifications

The Inbox/Messaging feature did not get a real shot at even being a feature because Spotify took away notifications for new messages. Give Inbox/Messaging some development so users can continue to privately share songs.

Adding a messaging feature on spotify would be a great way to communicate with others. I believe that if spotify adds this feature there will be a lot more users than there has ever been since the app is already loved by others it will only increase the amount of users. Please consider this idea. Thank you.

I really miss the inbox and messaging system on Spotify. It was such a great feature for sharing songs and albums with friends directly within the app. I think the only thing it needed to be used more was a proper notification system.

I liked the system a lot and never understood why it was removed. It made sharing and discovering music so much more engaging and fun. I believe that if Spotify reintroduced it with notifications, it would make the feature even better and help us connect with friends and family over the music.

When listening to something in Spotify that you think your friends would also enjoy. It would be a great feature in the app to be able to add it to some kind of wall/ playlist of recommended by friends. Your friend can then open their Spotify and see a playlist with songs your friends think you will like. It could be incorporated into the Spotify DJ as well.

They could then rate it, and add to their own playlists. You could then develop a success rating on recommendations between friends. I think it would be a fun way to collaborate within the app.

You should be able to recommend a song to a friend. Maybe all recommended songs can get added to a single playlist, and you can see who recommended this song to you. Or, it could be like a separate tab where you get all recommendations, and you click whether you like the recommendation or not

Spotify should allow Premium Users to be able to chat other Premium Users. While it would be nice to send a Chat to an actual celebrity, I don’t think this should happen due to the mass amount of Chats the celebrity would be receiving. 

All in all, if a Premium User has a public playlist then other Premium Users should be able to send them a chat. I also think it would be essential to add a Setting feature which allows Premium Users to Not Allow any Users to chat them.

Essentially, you would send songs to other users in the app. A button somewhere would allow you to check an inbox for songs your friends sent to you internally. Wouldn’t have to leave the app to send songs anymore.

It would be awesome to have a chat section so you can be able to share music, audiobooks and podcasts with friends within the app
