Add "remove video content" option to Spotify Family

Please add an option to "remove video content" to Spotify Family! Since video podcasts were added, my children now watch videos on Spotify instead of listening to music.  I had given them unlimited access to Spotify (unlike other apps) because it was only used for music.

All you'd have to do is add another toggle for "remove video content" next to "Remove explicit content".

Spotify Kids is not an option for us.  My children are teens and tweens.  And because they're teens and tweens, they have a very difficult time turning off compelling video content (just like some adults).  If Spotify becomes just another screen to stare at, I'm not sure we want to keep our Family membership.

Moving to another music app for my kids. This is so annoying. Spotify you lost another one.

This is a year long request with so many family asking for it and there is no fix. I just joined Spotify Family premium as my kid asked for it and discovered that he spend 2 hours watching video podcast. I just canceled my subscription.

One more listener here moving to either Tidal or Apple Music over this parental nightmare.

This should have been a no brainer for family plan members with younger a kids. I want them to use the app for music not a bunch of dumb tiktok videos.

Yeah I've done the same, figured out my kid was watching videos that Spotify rather underhandedly snuck in through a not very well publicised feature update. This really needs to be controlled through the Family Plan options.

try to block the following domains on your home router (home network)

video-akpcw-cdn-spotify-com.akamaized.net

video-fa.scdn.co

I will try this now at out home. I maintained the network settings of my router and assigned those settings to the devices of my kids.

Found this tip in a german blog:

https://www.computerbase.de/forum/threads/spotify-youtube-like-videos-deaktivieren-kindertauglich-ma...

there they used the features of Fritzbox from AVM

hopefully this will work.

Else I will cancel my family subscription of Spotify

I can confirm that blocking the following URLs will remove the video content in the Spotify app.

video-akpcw-cdn-spotify-com.akamaized.net

video-fa.scdn.co

I was on the verge of deleting my Family account because Spotify was increasing its prices at the turn of the year and I wouldn't have stayed without a solution. It's sad enough that it took a year for at least this workaround to be found. Incidentally, this could have come from Spotify itself, but that also shows me how disinterested this company is in paying families.
