Add "remove video content" option to Spotify Family

Please add an option to "remove video content" to Spotify Family! Since video podcasts were added, my children now watch videos on Spotify instead of listening to music.  I had given them unlimited access to Spotify (unlike other apps) because it was only used for music.

All you'd have to do is add another toggle for "remove video content" next to "Remove explicit content".

Spotify Kids is not an option for us.  My children are teens and tweens.  And because they're teens and tweens, they have a very difficult time turning off compelling video content (just like some adults).  If Spotify becomes just another screen to stare at, I'm not sure we want to keep our Family membership.

Tengo cuenta en Spotify desde sus inicios y solo me interesan las canciones. No quiero imágenes en mi spotify.

Creen una opción: No mostrarme videos relacionados.

Completely agree with most of the comments. My kids are now using Spotify to watch hundreds of video instead of simply listening to music.
I'm now hesitating to completely stop using Spotify for my family. This is non-sense.

With android family link I can of course limit usage per apps, but the main idea of Spotify should (was) be to listen to music, point. So ideally, no time limit, but currently, it is so loaded of video and just so easy to find...

thanks in advance to take into account this easy filter to be set up allowing parents to disable this for their children (without using spotify kids, which is not ideal for 13+ kids).

  • Accounts such as “The Royalty Family” basically put their YouTube content on Spotify under the podcast section.

  • I suggest we get an option to block this type of content on kids Spotify accounts as this defeats the purpose of not allowing YouTube Kids to children but allowing them to listen to music on Spotify.

It's frustrating that this issue has not been picked up for 2,5 years now. What's the hold up? Seems like Spotify deliberately wants our kids to become screen addicts.

My solution right now is: Reduce screen time with Google Family Link to 10 minutes per day and tell my son about it. He can listen with the screen off as long as he needs, but watching videos on spotify would be blocked very soon. It's not a satisfying solution, but it's better to to permanently control him personally.

We're at the point that if I can't find a way to block videos we have no choice but to switch to another service. For parents, this ability is ESSENTIAL!

Just this morning I found out that my kids 7 and 10 use Spotify extensively to watch this **bleep** contents…And it is not their fault- they are kids and are victims of this **bleep** contents.I wasn’t aware that this feature even exists on Spotify and in my account I do not see this video suggestions. The account of my daughter is full with this bsht video content. I am really angry about you, Spotify! Your service is intended to listen to music and audio books and not to spoil my kids with this crappy content that is not at all fitting their age. I have been a paying customer for 15 years now but I’ll be migrating to Apple Music, Tidal or any other service that gives me control back over the content my kids can consume.
It is a feature that can be implemented very easily: Block video content and restrict to music, audiobooks. Spotify, you just have  no interest in implementing, since you earn a lot of money with this bsht content.shame on you!

So true. I waited for 1 year now. No communication from Spotify about this
requests. So I canceled my family account. During canceling process you are
asked about the reason. I can recommend you do the same.

Returning to Spotify is of course possible at any Point in time, e.g. one
day before they really cancel you subscription.

Turn off video.  My kids can’t listen to the f word but can basically see some b00bs.  This is ridiculous.  Pandora i guess?

I have had this problem with my daughter. Because her mobile phone is pretty restricted (no youtube, Tiktok etc.) she found these video-podcasts which aren't even related to music!

An option to restrict the app via Family Link doesn't properly work because I want that my kids listen to the music as much as possible.

I see that this suggestion has been hanging here for 4 years already and this hasn't been implemented yet. Which is sad.

I hope that developers look into that soon.

Its sad that this hasn't already been implemented. This has been requested for years. I remember this being an issue when Spotify tried to copy TikTok.

Autoplay drains mobile data and persists even when I am listening to other music/podcasts. I will NEVER interact with these videos. PLEASE do what your customers actually want and finally implement this feature. I am begging you.
