If i hate a song, then I don't want to hear it ever again. All of us run into this on an hourly basis. Every single day. Why in the world cant we dislike (or thumb down) a song to remove it from existence? Why do you torture us by playing songs we don't want to hear?

There is a "hide" option (only on mobile), and its playlist specific. The desktop version doesn't even have this somewhat-useless feature.

So I vote for a universal dislike button. No playlist limitations. No desktop vs mobile limitations. No buttons hidden in submenus. Just a simple, easily accessible button that can eliminate our headaches once and for all.

Since this is FINALLY a live idea, I am going to copy myself from another idea submission about basically the same thing:

Right now blocking an artist does nothing to prevent them from being shown in a playlist or recommendations.

Every time I open Spotify - the first thing I see is trending for you and recommended, that are full of artists I have never listened to and have no plans on doing so. Despite blocking them, Spotify offers me daily playlists that consist of music of almost solely such artists. None of my suggestions are tailored to me whatsoever, despite me listening to the music I like daily.

There is no open way to affect the recommendations, (for example there is no way to choose genres/locations of artists whose music we would like to not listen to, and vice versa) so it would be great to be able to at least have the blocked artists not be constantly showing up over the artists that you actually listen to.

I agree. There are songs that I don't like and I don't want to hear it anymore and I would like to have the option of deleting it out of my library of songs

Strong_Dislike

This is such a basic feature. Why is it missing? There must be more to this story.

That's a BIG thing missing from Spotify. I absolutely despise what's popular in my country. I have never listened to it, but I'm flooded with that in my front page...

Spotify used to have that option but removed it for some unexplained reason. It needs to be brought back.

I came here to suggest the same thing, more-or-less. The "remove recommendation" option on Desktop when using Smart Shuffle (another feature I absolutely hate, Enhanced was so much better,) doesn't actually do anything. You click it, and Spotify is like "We won't recommend this song in this playlist anymore."

But guess what's playing a few songs later?

I have removed the recommendation for several songs over the past couple of hours, and yet they keep coming back as recommendations. I need full customizability of my playlists, they each have very specific vibes and I really would appreciate it if when I tell spotify "not this one," that it actually takes that into account and respects it, because currently it does absolutely nothing.

This would be helpful because even the hide song feature doesn’t even fully work. Sometimes when I’m listening to an album with a song I have hidden in it it still plays the song even though it is hidden.
