[Android] Remove the Shuffle / Play Button

Hi, I tried out your new design, which I have mixed feelings about, but nevermind that. The most annoying thing I come over in the new Spotify (for iPhone by the way) is the dumb, big, overlapping, unnecessary shuffle play button that pops up everywhere. Is this a bug or is this on purpose? Could at least had add an option for it. Also, it doesn't look streamlined at all with the current design. Did it even occur that not everyone wants a shuffle play button?

Updated on 2020-11-04

Hey folks,
As some of you will have noticed, this has changed on iOS.
We've updated the idea, so that we can update everyone more accurately with regards to Android.
We're marking this as a 'Good idea', too.
Please know that your feedback is reaching the right teams here.

We'll post an update if anything changes!
Thanks

Yes, get rid of it or have an option to make it go away. A big ugly button that is no use to non-shufflers.

Make it easier to toggle shuffle.

It would also be nice to log my selection for each playlist/album individually.

Too often I go from a shuffled playlist to an album I want to play tracks in order only to have them shuffled as well.

On Android, I don't understand the shuffle button when you're viewing an album, and want to play a certain song.

I'm attracted to Spotify premium, but there's no way I'd subscribe to premium to have

an absolutely idiotic button dominate the screen and more importantly, dominate how

I listen to songs from an album.  Song order on an album give a context, and Spotify

music aficionados should know this.

I was surprised to see a 72-comment thread totally being ignored.

That's why I'm not subscribing and will look at the features of competitors instead.  If it's

this easy to find bad UI chioces, then surely there are many more that would make it a

waste of time to pay $10.00 a month to be denied the ability to play a certain song on demand.

This should be right at the top of your to-do list. Why does this button even exist? Why would I want to shuffle an album that an artist has lovingly sequenced? Really irritating.

This large & ugly button MUST be removed, or removable.  Why privilege it over everything else?  It takes up a bit percentage of a small screen.  For classical listeners Shuffle is nonsensical: you can't listen to an opera or symphony in a random order.  Grrrrr.  PLEASE CHANGE IT SOON.

On Android too, please add the ability to remove this! I am seemingly one of the only album fans still around and I literally never use the shuffle functionality, so it's just sitting there being obvious while not in use. In landscape mode it's not distracting, but I rarely browse Spotify in landscape. I understand that this is a necessity for free users (they can only shuffle) but I'm on Premium and I don't need it.

I may cancel my premium subscription that I just got because I want to play certain songs from certain albums.

I can't. They only seem to shuffle.

I understand having shuffle as an option but shuffle only?

Is there any way to simply play song in order or play the ones you want?

How do I get rid of the shuffle feature?? I want to play songs on an album in order!!

Please remove the annoying button for Premium users.

In almost every view on the Mobile app, there's a giant floating "Shuffle" button that never leaves the screen.

I believe free users have access to *only* shuffle on mobile, correct? So in that sense, that Shuffle button makes sense. It's their only option for playback.

As a premium user, I am paying you for the priveledge to play an entire album, playlist, etc in the intended order. Ie. - as a premium user, I am *unlocking* the abilitiy to NOT be forced to shuffle - and the app should reflect that.

Now, I have no problem with the Shuffle button *existing* - but have it sit next to the "Save" button under the album artwork and have it scroll offscreen. When I am perusing a track list or discography why is it necessary to have SHUFFLE!!!! in my face the whole time? It's especially annoying when viewing an artist or an album - I can *kind* of see the application when viewing a playlist.

I know this has been posted before in the forums, but the design philosophy behind it (for Premium users) really baffles me.
