It's super annoying to block singers when you want to avoid some specific language on Discovery Weekly. So it would be nice to have the possibility to block a whole language and don't get connected recommendations.

I’m really tired, just like many others Ukrainians which really need this function to prevent russian songs and authors from unexpected appearing in their recommendations.

I have NONE russian song or authors in my liked playlist and do you know what? They still appear in my recommendations! What the **bleep** man?

At the moment only way to prevent russian songs from appearing in recommendations - is by hands, manually, block them. I would say that this is really annoying.

I’m many years with Spotify, but this is annoying problem with sneaky russian things, which just showing app without reason, just checking my patience all the time.

Solve this for me, please, or I will change my music app.

And one other thing to just remind you, I know that hate speech isn’t allowed anywhere, but it’s okay because my next sentence not about that, I will anyway say that - russians doing worsest things to us, probably every Ukrainian by today have PTSD related to everything what is are russian, especially to russian language.

If you really care about Ukrainian people that mentally suffering from PTSD - you should do something to solve that problem with russian songs that showing up in your app.

Ukrainians in Spotify trying relax and with music playing just get anti-stress relax for couple minutes from war that is still going on, and after they open app and play their playlist - they hear russian songs 🤨

I think that this function to block chosen language would save nervous of thousands people.

I’d like to suggest the addition of a feature that allows users to block or filter out artists based on both nationality and language (for example my home is occupatied by a country, but I get the suggestions for books by the authors from there or songs in many playlists made by Spotify for me, while I don't have liked songs etc in that language)

Currently, I find it triggering to see those artists in my playlists and recommendations, especially since I cannot block or dislike audiobooks.

When I dislike a song, it may lead the system to think I dislike a particular genre or type of music, which is not the case. As a result, I can get less accurate suggestions, while still being shown artists I do not want.

I kindly request that you consider adding filtering options by nationality and language so users can have greater control over the content they see and hear, while avoiding triggering material.

Dear Spotify, please make 2 simple 'stop playing this' filters:

1. by artist country

2. by track language

Please prioritize this solution, it's just the right thing to do.

Дуже зручний інтерфейс, але якась біда з рекомендаціями. Вже кілька місяців близько 80% тижневі рекомендації - російськомовна музика. Спочатку просто натискав, не відтворювати, а пісень стає все більше. Думаю про зміну додатку для прослуховування музики

Since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia in 2022, many Ukrainians feel strongly about not supporting Russian cultural content, especially music. Unfortunately, Spotify currently lacks a feature that would allow users to automatically block or hide music by Russian artists.

What makes the situation worse is that songs by Russian artists frequently appear in personalized recommendations and autogenerated playlists, even when users have shown no interest in them. This is deeply frustrating for many Ukrainians.

We kindly ask you to consider implementing a feature that would allow users to restrict or completely hide music by Russian artists. This feature could be made available as part of the Premium subscription, providing additional motivation for Ukrainian users to upgrade.

There is significant demand for such a feature. Many users are willing to pay for Spotify Premium just to ensure they don’t see or hear content from the aggressor country. This would not only enhance the user experience but also contribute to Spotify’s revenue growth.

У зв’язку з повномасштабною війною, яку Росія веде проти України з 2022 року, для багатьох українців принципово важливо не підтримувати російську культуру, зокрема — російську музику. На жаль, у додатку Spotify наразі відсутня можливість автоматично блокувати чи приховувати музику російських виконавців.

Особливо дратує те, що пісні російських артистів часто потрапляють до персональних рекомендацій та автоматичних плейлистів, навіть якщо користувач не виявляє до них жодного інтересу.

Ми щиро просимо вас розглянути можливість додати функцію, яка дозволятиме користувачам обмежувати або повністю приховувати музику виконавців із РФ. Таку опцію можна зробити доступною для користувачів Premium-підписки, що стане додатковим стимулом для українців оформити передплату.

Можу запевнити вас, що ця функція буде дуже популярною серед українських користувачів. Багато хто готовий платити за Premium лише заради можливості не бачити і не чути контент країни-агресора. Dear Spotify Support Team,

I’m a big fan of Spotify and truly appreciate both the product and the culture of your company. Your platform has been an essential part of my daily life, and I love discovering new music through the weekly recommendations.

However, I recently encountered an issue where a significant portion of my weekly Discover playlist included a lot of artists from russia, a country whose music I do not listen to and prefer to avoid. I have never interacted with this type of content, so it was surprising to see it suggested.

Currently, I know there is an option to block individual artists (“Don’t play this artist”), which is very helpful. I believe it would be incredibly beneficial to extend a similar functionality by allowing users to filter or exclude music recommendations based on country. Conversely, it would be wonderful to also search and prioritize music by country when discovering new artists.

I hope you will consider adding such a feature in the future. It would greatly enhance the personalization experience for users who have specific language, cultural, or regional preferences in their listening habits.
