[Desktop] Full Discography Reinstatement

The full chronological artist discography, with all tracks listed out, has been removed from artist pages. Please add this back, as it was the most efficient way to explore an Artist's discography. Very simple.

 

Spotify seems to be attempting to bury this issue by closing attempts to bring it up and referring to other versions of this question that have also been closed. This is a new issue for users that are experiencing this change for the first time.

Thanks for reaching out about this.


We'll mark this Idea as "Under Consideration" as we discuss ways in the team to bring this use-case back to Desktop, and perhaps to web for the first time.

 

You can currently play through the entire discography (with shuffle on or off) by using the large play button on the artist page, but we appreciate that starting this from a specific track was something many of you were keen on.

You can also Subscribe via the 3-dot menu and keep an eye on this thread for updates.

Artist page list view is back! WOOOOHOOOOOO! And it has come to the web player for the first time. I like how more advanced the web player is getting at the same time. 

 

However, I don't like that you have to switch between an albums and singles view. There should be a little box you can check for combined view for those that prefer it like in the old desktop app. Having more options is good in this case. So glad to have this view back. Thank you! 💚

bzero: Thank you, I just checked state of new superrior unified piece of shapp after like 18 months... Fine it's there and it's well hidden. Yet compared to pre-unification desktop client this whole thing is sub-optimal at the best. This is not UX suitable for dektop. Maybe for phones, but the desktop comfort is gone.

Hey look. Another idea asking to roll back a change that Spotify doesn't have a problem with because it's not about the new UI.

 

God, Spotify's hypocrisy knows no bounds apparently. There are like a dozen or more Ideas asking for this new trash home page UI to be removed—all of which were closed because apparently it's a rule that "Requests for complete roll-backs are not allowed." (Examples: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10) And yet they don't seem to have any problem with this idea asking for a feature that was removed to be restored. If that's not a "complete roll-back" I don't know what is.

 

Why don't you just come clean and flat out say that you just aren't going to get rid of the new UI no matter how many people hate it?

I've been using Spotify for a while now but now I am getting annoyed because I have to search for specific song or scroll through albums and the list of the album to get to one specific song. Or even just to enjoy listening to ONE Artist's entire list is painful. Right now It'll only give me few songs and starts suffling the genre. 

 

Please provide us the ability to click on ARTIST and aquire their entire discography. This features needs to be set up.

If your on the mobile app you would use the three dots to select 'view artist'. In their profile there's a popular tab the you click"see all'

 

It's faster to do it from a web-player or the desktop app. In then you click on the artists name. Then in the same tab click"see all".

Currently, viewing all the songs by a specific artist is unnecessarily inconvenient. Users are forced to navigate through the "See Discography" section, opening albums one by one, or leave the artist page entirely to search and filter by "Songs."

 

To solve this, a centralized, easily accessible list of all an artist's songs is required. This feature would be best implemented with a "Show All Songs" button on the artist page—perhaps adjacent to the "Popular Releases" section. The complete song list should be sortable by key metrics like popularity and release date to enhance usability.

Here’s a heartfelt request from someone who deeply lives through music, not just listens to it.

 

Right now, when visiting an artist’s page — especially smaller, independent, or lesser-known ones — we can only play their top 10 songs, their radio, or user-created playlists. But what if someone wants to immerse fully in an artist’s entire sound world?

 

Many of us love discovering every piece a musician has released, from the earliest experiment to the latest evolution. Yet, the only way to do this now is to manually add each track or album — an exhausting and discouraging process that kills the flow of discovery and emotion.

 

💡 Proposed Feature:

Add a simple “Play All” button on every artist page — something that automatically queues the entire discography (albums, singles, collaborations) for continuous listening.

 

It’s a small change with huge impact:

 

Encourages deeper artist discovery Supports smaller creators who deserve to be heard beyond their top tracks Enhances the listener’s emotional journey through the artist’s evolution 

 

Spotify already knows how to make listening feel human — this feature would make it feel even more alive. 🌿

 

Please consider it. Many of us long for a way to experience music as a whole story, not just its highlights.

But it's so tedious adding every individual album to a playlist! I also go on a deep dive when I find an artist I like.

 

Being able to add ALL of the artist's songs to a queue or playlist would be so amazing. Huge improvement. Please!
