Select and organize multiple Playlists

This is a direct copy of this idea which was originally posted 2 years ago.  I wasn't a user then, and this idea has since been made inactive, so I'm resurrecting it.  Even just a shift-select on the desktop app would help immeasurably.  Here's the original idea:

"I am looking for easy ways to organize my library.

I want to do some housekeeping in my library, but I find the current system of dragging and dropping individual playlists is too time consuming when the number of playlists reach this high.

First of all, there should be a way to select multiple playlists at once and be able to handle multiple playlists the same way as I can handle single playlist (ability to drag and drop, and rightclick w/ a special dropdown menu for multiple selected items).

Ctrl-clicking, shift-clicking and shift+arrowkeys would help greatly.

[Edit] This idea is nearing its 2 year anniversary of no official recognition. Good times! 🙂

As a sidenote my Spotify library now consists of 1296 playlists."

I think this is a function that should exist in all software where you have multiple rows of information and stuff and became kind of suprised when i saw it did not exist.

Thanks for your comment amellegard!  I was also surprised to find there wasn't any action from Spotify on the previously posted idea.  Hopefully this time!

Another nice feature to make "Play", "Choose as current playlist" and "Start Radio" also appear in the drop-down menu when right-clicking multiple playlists.

Thanks for your reply Rapti! That is a great idea and a good way to get a lot of songs going quickly!

A checkbox system would work for this idea too.
mrderek
Thanks for your reply scottssummerfiel! Yes checkboxes would work too, but shift select would be slightly quicker : if you had to move 50 playlists, checkbox only system would mean you have to click 50 times. Checkbox AND shift-select would be pure awesome 😃

Sorry. I don't know what shift select is or if it is available for android but I will Kudo anything that makes building and maintaining my music library easier.

Thanks for the support! Sorry I was actually referring to the desktop app, where you click to select one playlist, hold shift and then select another playlist down the page. This would select all playlists in-between, which you can drag and drop to folders etc. Checkboxes would be the only way on mobile, you're right. That would be a great addition! 😃

Dear Spotify support, this idea should not even need any Kudos. It should be standard functionality as it is in any other application. It is like not building a heating in a car because it might not have received enough kudos. So please be a little more realistic about standard features every app has/should have. Thank you for your kind consideration
