[Playlists] Adding a SORT button to the playlists for Android Auto

Hi guys,

As you already know (and because you want to keep all your Premium members and regular members still onboard) for around 4 years already a lot of ideas and requests were made from us about adding the 'Sort' option for the playlists in Android Auto. As it appears to all the requests made until now, the idea was pushed aside because of not having the required number of 'likes' on the topic. Seriously? (i saw countless requests over the years made on this specific topic). Why is it that hard to add the option? Almost all of your members would highly appreciate it. How does this appear as "good customer service" if you don't listen to your members to implement an option which will make our user experience so much better? Is it fair, especially for the ones who pay Premium account? I hope that somebody from the team will be so kind and forward this topic so that it can be resolved. Thank you for your time ! (P.S. just put yourself in our shoes for a minute)

Hey everyone,

It seems that this idea ended up in the wrong board accidentally, so we're bringing it back.

We're setting the status to Not Right Now, as this isn't something we have any immediate plans to implement. When we do have any new info to share, rest assured we'll check back in here with a new status.

More info on how your feedback reaches Spotify via the Idea Exchange can be found here.

Not having this just seems like it's counter productive to safety. You're forcing users to have to try to fumble with their phones to get a feature that is present in the phone app, but missing in the Android Auto/Apple Carplay experience.

Not sure what genius decided this wasn't necessary to have in one area when it's present in all the other Spotify apps.

Hey! Thanks for coming to the Spotify Idea Exchange.
We've been keeping an eye on this submission for an extended period of time, and it doesn't seem this will reach the votes necessary to put it forward for prioritization.
As such, we're marking this case as closed. This includes any similar suggestions that are received.

If we do have any new information to share, rest assured we'll check back in here with a new status.

More information about it can be found here.

Thanks for your comprehension!

Color me surprised.  Rarely do I see any Spotify issues resolved.  It shouldn't required "votes" to fix an obvious flaw or feature.  Are there only two developers at Spotify?

At this point, it seems like it would be faster to get a job with spotify
to fix the issues myself than for them to figure out how.

I'll vote for that! Drives me crazy...

AndroidTV without sorting tracks in your playliststs makes it almost impossibile to use - I have many playlists with tracks sorted by date (newest at the top) so I CANNOT listen to new tracks in that order - I have to scroll down many screens before I reach them.

"Sort by" in playlists is a STANDARD function on a mobile - why can't it be available for ANDROID TV or other platforms?

Wow so playlists cannot be sorted on other clients as well. I get that spotify has many clients to support on various platforms, but not adding this feature makes me question the future of Android Auto. I guess Case Closed means we will never see this happening. 😕

joshuajmlee
I think they said they need either 50 or 100 votes to consider adding the
feature. Which seems like a safety issue since it just forces people to use
platforms that will sort such as their phones

Unbelievable, without this feature Spotify AA is useless to me. Not sure about you guys, but listening to playlists sorted as "date added" is the only way I use Spotify.
