[Playlists] Solution to false/abusive reporting

Whenever someone reports a playlist - the title and cover art are removed immediately. This is often abused to hurt record labels and playlist curators. After contacting support - the account of someone who abused this system gets taken down. This person then creates another email and free Spotify account and repeats the process.

There is a simple solution to the problem - enable reporting feature only after 10 hours of music/podcasts were streamed using the account. It won't change the experience for a normal user but makes copyright abuse impractical. It's cheap and easy to implement and would stop 95% of false claims.

Thank you for your consideration.

Well, after 8 months of this happening every single day, every 10 minutes i came up with a solution for myself.
I literally had to develop an App that replaces automatically my playlists metadata, it took many hours of scripting and also a lot of money. If you really need to fix your stuff until spotify do something about this, it's the only way around, because i DOUBT spotify will fix the report system as fast as we want them to.

First of all I can’t log into this website https://community.spotify.com/ to comment or like.

I get the “HTTP Status 500 – type Status Report Description http.500” page

This is happening on windows PC and android Samsung tablet. I’m sure I’m not the only one and may be a reason why people don’t post here often.

The only way to post here is to click the link "manage your subscription & notification settings" at the very bottom of the email you get from this thread when there is a new post.

That’s excellent news furlan_tv! Congratulations!

Is there a way we can get that app too so we don’t have to restore the Title, Description and Image 80 times a day?

It is really crazy that people can get away with this behavior and Spotify is to blame to enable them.

This happening to me right now!! It is so frustrating. First it was just one playlist, my most liked one, and it would get reported multiple times a week. I’ve been adding the content back every time to try and fight back, but it’s incessant.

as of today it is now happening to 5 of my playlists all in one fell swoop. I can’t express how annoying this is to deal with so frequently. Please provide a solution for all of us creating popular playlists! We need help!

This has been happening to me since August. At first I was getting reported weekly, and now it sometimes goes on hourly all day. Today I've been reported every 10 minutes for the past 6 hours. It's only happening to my most popular playlist so far.

False reporting has been so bad that other playlist curators in the same genre have reached out to me sharing their stories too. We're all being reported for no reason and it's becoming a more frequent issue. This is so frustrating, please help us continue to create great playlists and find a solution asap!

@rusadkt

u shouldn’t say that u making a living out of playlists, never. U can get banned by making money from playlisting, it’s agains spotify TOS.

I know u’re very mad just like us all, got after building a python system that re-uploads the playlist metadata, there’s many ways u can do it, just search for “Spotify Playlist Metadata API”

hope it helps.

Has anyone actually ever gotten a response back from Spotify when they’ve emailed them disputing the violation claim? I’ve sent them probably a dozen different emails with screen shots of exactly what my artwork, title, and description are that’s been reported asking for clarification as to what even IS a violation. Of course they’ve never responded. Neither has their useless Twitter account.
