Select multiple tracks on mobile

We should be able to select a group of songs. Let´s say I added an album to my playlist but now I want to remove it. It´d be a lot easier to hold-click one song and then just click the rest, so that we could just remove all of them at once, without having to go on each song, clicking on more and then remove from playlist.

This is just an example, there are lots of other things that´d be possible if we had this feature added to Spotify. If there´s already a way to do this, please tell me, I´d be very grateful. Thanks.

Además ,teniendo una playlist y  si quiero crear otra con parte de esas canciones , selecionar más de dos a la vez , y no una por una .

piqerass

you can do it on Spotify desktop or browser but not on smartphone

theostlistener

I know this doesn’t solve the essential problem, but if you want to remove an album from a playlist on mobile, go to the album itself and do the procedure to act like you’re adding it to a playlist, but simply unselect the one you don’t want it in anymore and hit done and it should remove it in its entirety from the playlist.

Example, I have a playlist full of bangers across multiple genres. Sometimes I only want to listen to specific genres, or exclude genres. My idea would allow me to quickly copy and paste what I want into a more refined playlist. Also, the ability to do this would allow me to see what I already have without having to think of and remember each individual song

You can already do this, on computer - if you hold in CTRL and select 2 or more songs then right click with your mouse on one of the songs you selected, then you will get a tab that says ad in playlist and now you can import all the songs you marked into the playlist.

Currently, we can only move songs one by one between playlists.

There’s no option to mark or multi-select several songs at once.

It would be great if Spotify added a simple “mark” feature — so users could select multiple songs and move them all together to another playlist.

This would make organizing music smoother, faster, and way more enjoyable for those who love curating their collections. 💚

Hi @MB_61 .

Thanks for posting in the Spotify Community! 😃

It's great that you enjoy music curation. Let me share some tips, to make the process faster, giving you more time for the enjoyment of your masterpieces.

  • Firstly here’s a fact. Curating on a desktop is faster than on a phone. It’s not even close. So if you’re in the field and catch a song you like, add it to a playlist on your front screen, then move what you’ve collected when you get back to your PC or laptop.

  • Fact number 2. The curation process is much faster using multiple screens. For me when I’m on the road I can get by using my laptop and a 4k 27” screen, or with my 2k 33” widescreen (At my desk I have 2×4k screens and the 2k widescreen)

I can comfortably get by using 2 screens saving the third for other tasks like; writing documents, updating spreadsheets or posting on social media.

Let’s focus on a third of one screen.

So the source is in the web app. Under that is the destination playlist.

  • To select the whole album click on the first track and shift + [down arrow], or

  • Click in the first track, then scroll down using your mouse wheel, then Ctrl+Shift+[Click] on the last track. This will highlight the first, last, and all tracks in between.

In my case I only want tracks 1, 4, 5, 7, and 8. I have selected these using Ctrl + [Click] to highlight each of those.

Now I’m going to drag and drop them into the window below. By dropping them into the space under the playlist, the tracks get added to the bottom. You can send them to an exact position, by placing them between 2 songs, or at the top.

The bigger picture

2 screens.png

Each window has 3 playlists accessible by scrolling forward or back. The discovery weekly is there to start each song. I use the web app to confirm if albums contain one track or multiple tracks. Using the web app also prevents losing my spot in a source playlist. (after clicking off a playlist and going back you can be sent to the top of the list when you're over half way through

Being able to swipe tracks between windows and screens, is Spotify's superpower. No other platform can do that.

Now you know how to select multiple tracks. Ctrl+Click, Ctrl+Shift+Click or Click + [Down arrow]. Using mutilpe windows will advance your curation skillset.

Thanks again for contrubuting to the Spotify Community. If there's anything else I can help you with, please let me know.

Have a great day 😃

It's great that we can do multiselect on web, but I spend 95% of my listening right now on mobile apps. I, like the OP, would like some improvements in line with photo apps, file apps, half a dozen other use cases of similar merit which have already solved this problem on mobile.
