[Social] Add Display Name Option for User Account

I understand that Spotify won't allow you to change the username as it is used in internal stuffs of Spotify, but how about adding a Display Name field to user's account settings that by default is the same as username and it's not used for anything else but to search the user and display it's name. That way, the user users can change it as they like ?

THANK GOD finally found an open one. If I can't use something to stay anonymous then I won't be using Spotify for any sort of sharing like I'd hoped with streaming. Either allow us to have a playlist created by 'anonymous', or an option to use a username instead of our actual names. Or there are probably better ideas, idk, just something.

Please do this!  All the solutions to change user name are out dated and don't work.  Any prefered name registered when making a new account are ignored and who wants to be on Facebook?

Most annoying and incomprehensible answer that could have ever been possible here. Thousands of your paying customers want that, but you are sure you really "don't have any immediate plans"!? REALLY??? (Hear my facepalm!)

Per, so very sorry, not personally meant, but you s***! Not for being who you are, but for delivering this message to the place where this eagerly desired idea of a display name was born. Congratulations for being the most hated person in this community now - well done, Per! (dare implementing dislikes if you doubt)


Right now I really do give up! The futility of this community freaks me out... brilliant ideas are rejected with NO REASON GIVEN! What a waste of time. I gonna spend my energy in something more usefull now. Observing fresh paint during drying would be a far more fulfilling mission than being part of this sad story here.

Don't get me wrong: Spotify will stay my music buddy... but the team behind spotify just died with Per's message.
