[iOS] Implement Native HomePod Support

Details

Just this week at WWDC (June 22, 2020), Apple announced support for third party music services on the HomePod.  I'm requesting that Spotify implement native support for the HomePod such that one or even multiple HomePods will appear in the "Connect to a device" menu on any Apple device WITHOUT having to connect through Airplay.  This will also allow users to ask Siri to play songs from Spotify on their HomePod(s).

Apple is opening up the HomePod, and I know there are many other HomePod users that would love to have native Spotify support on their speaker.

Thanks for this.
I contacted The Sun's tech department to so far no avail.

I’ve had spotify premium family for a few years now. May well be moving to Apple Music if spotify don’t add full HomePod integration pretty soon.

Just received a HomePod, currently using Airplay to play music. But will be great to be able to use Spotify natively using Siri in the HomePod OS

Well… coincidentally, Apple just offered me another free month of Apple Music. So, I took it.

And we’re 12 hours in and loving it. Using Siri to play music without Airplay is a dream.

Renewal date for Spotify is 3th January. Time to vote with my feet.

Maybe Christmas will soften the attitude of Spotify

I too can't vote for some reason--have tried both Safari and Firefox on laptop and iPhone. I consider native support for Homepods on Spotify a crucial issue and a no-brainer. First people fought like **bleep** to get Apple to open up support, and now Spotify is hesitant to do it? Like others, I may eventually move to Apple Music if Spotify doesn't offer support for Siri to control Spotify play on Homepods--and I like Spotify more than Apple Music. Refusing to do this (if that is indeed what's happening) seems suicidal on Spotify's part, at least if they want customers who use Apple products.

Think is... the only real way Spotify will take notice is if users leave Spotify. It comes down to money. If people complain but keep paying every month, why would they respond?

Yes. Unfortunately I am locked in to a family membership and am the only
one with HomePods. Or I would do this.

Signed up for a free 3 months of Apple Music. Very convenient!

I still prefer Spotify, but not a word about the implementation of this ‘idea’ -come on?!

Might just save me a couple of months of subscription and cancel Spotify right now, since I don’t expect they’ll implement this anytime soon.

They should really look into implementing both Homepod support via Siri and Airplay 2. There is a large iOS user base that will be pushed into Apple's own services that actually work better in that ecosystem if they don't do so.
