[iOS] Implement Native HomePod Support

Just this week at WWDC (June 22, 2020), Apple announced support for third party music services on the HomePod.  I'm requesting that Spotify implement native support for the HomePod such that one or even multiple HomePods will appear in the "Connect to a device" menu on any Apple device WITHOUT having to connect through Airplay.  This will also allow users to ask Siri to play songs from Spotify on their HomePod(s). 

Apple is opening up the HomePod, and I know there are many other HomePod users that would love to have native Spotify support on their speaker.

I just quit spotify and I'm changing to apple music. Spotify you were the pioneer for music streaming and I always said it's the only abo that's really worth it. But I used homekit as my smart home system and I can't understand why you are so stubborn about supporting the homepod. I still hope you'll change. Bye bye!

Please, please, please, for the love of all that is good in this world, when is Spotify adding native HomePod support? Please don't reply to this with a link to an idea that already discusses this issue. I would like to know if Spotify is currently working on this because it has been YEARS. I am very close to switching to Apple Music due to this issue. When are you adding HomePod support??

no support yet? How many years have to pass before this feature gets its implementation within the HomePod ecosystem? You have almost 7k votes and almost 2 hundreds of comments to testify the importance of the matter and yet you are obviously purposely ignoring the issue. Price increases but a simple feature like this takes years to make its way to the users...why?

I got rid of spotify for this specific reason almost 3 years ago now and have never looked back

Please add asap. A lot of users are waiting for this, and it would make life a whole lot easier. Apple has made all the resources available for a while now. Just up to you guys.

The media api is a nice to have given the lack of support from Spotify. But it’s not the feature I want. I don’t want to rely on an iPhone being home for it to work

I contacted support today to ask about how AirPlay 1 is so bad on HomePod because of the delay and how native Spotify integration would fix it. Their response was to deal with the delay and contact Apple because Spotify isn’t a partner with HomePod. Sounds a lot like Spotify doesn’t want to play fair with the other smart speakers since they have a partnership with Sonos. Kinda funny since they are constantly pushing that Apple doesn’t play fair with them…
