[iOS] Implement Native HomePod Support

Details

Just this week at WWDC (June 22, 2020), Apple announced support for third party music services on the HomePod.  I'm requesting that Spotify implement native support for the HomePod such that one or even multiple HomePods will appear in the "Connect to a device" menu on any Apple device WITHOUT having to connect through Airplay.  This will also allow users to ask Siri to play songs from Spotify on their HomePod(s).

Apple is opening up the HomePod, and I know there are many other HomePod users that would love to have native Spotify support on their speaker.

Please upvote this idea to garner attention for it.  Thank you Spotify and the Spotify community.  Let's get this implemented so it's ready for general iOS 14 release this September!

Interestingly it seems they are capeble of doing this, but continue to
ignore this forum

This is really hilarious having this thread ignored by Spotify officials for over three years now.

Together with the latest price increases on the family premium and still no native Homepod support I don't really see any reasons not to switch back to Apple Music.

Why ask people for their opinion, tell them their voice had been heard through enough votes and then carry on ignoring it.

This is as bad of a management communication style as it is a PR disaster.

If they are really being serious about customer feedback, the least would be to update officially on the pinned Status Update and tell everyone that native Homepod support will not come due to reasons.

I am really annoyed by this!

What is the purpose of having a feature request with 175 pages of people in agreement, an "acknowledgment" by your product teams for the past 2 years, with no changes? Spotify does not have its end users in mind. They'd rather sit on their d*cks while they increase prices for its global users. I don't care what feud Spotify has with Apple. Even if Apple was being the bad guy by locking down their ecosystem, they are allowing apps to have access to interfacing with the Apple ecosystem. Why don't you listen to your users who have been chiming in on wanting this functionality for the past 3+ years? Wouldn't you want to make more money by being capable everywhere? What's the hang up?

That Phorus receiver is a nice product for people with existing sound
systems, but it doesn’t solve the issue with being able to natively use
Siri on HomePods to control Spotify or to have Spotify take advantage of
AirPlay 2.

This is absolutely disgusting that this thread is still going on and being ignored.

2 years later and nothing is done, no response, no update, nothing, yet there are other changes, app updates, etc. and you're still happy to take our money.

Spotify - you should be ashamed.

Maybe we should all start spamming the Spotify Reddit account with this, since that seems to be the feedback they listen to.

I kind of gave up hope and plan to switch to Apple Music in november. I get increasingly annoyed by spotify - pushing Podcasts I''m not interested in, flodding Release Radar with random remixes of songs, increasing the price while not supporting an issue that has more than 6000 upvotes...

This is such a joke isn't it. 3 years later, 6000 votes and 175 pages of comments and Spotify CEO says there 'isn't significant volume' of complaints.

An excellent idea. Done.

I guess I will have to upgrade my phone one day or another. Maybe here is a
catalyst. Thanks.
