[iOS] Implement Native HomePod Support

Details

Just this week at WWDC (June 22, 2020), Apple announced support for third party music services on the HomePod.  I'm requesting that Spotify implement native support for the HomePod such that one or even multiple HomePods will appear in the "Connect to a device" menu on any Apple device WITHOUT having to connect through Airplay.  This will also allow users to ask Siri to play songs from Spotify on their HomePod(s).

Apple is opening up the HomePod, and I know there are many other HomePod users that would love to have native Spotify support on their speaker.

Prices go up, yet this vintage issue remains unresolved.

Spotify spits in the face of their loyal customers by not implementing native HomePod support for 4 years now. The time has come now for me and my family, we are starting the transfer to Apple Music.

Bye Spotify - you have been a truly spiteful **bleep** of a company.

Why is there a Feedback and Feature Request Page here, if Spotify just gives a F....

Really i cant understand how a company can be that stupid. Its a small implemenation that would solve a lot of problems for a huge part of the User base.

So do I see it correctly?

You are still not able to deliver Spotify Hifi nor deliver native Homepod Support and now you are whining that the support for Spotify Volume changes is removed from iOS?

If I am wrong please correct me but as a customer I just get the feeling that you don't care at all for me.

All this fuzz about HomePod integration and other smaller issues like not being able to shut down videos in the app led me to leaving Spotify for good.

I switched to Apple One and am absolutely happy with it. Look and feel is a bit different but I got used to it pretty quickly - and HomePod integration is native 😉

So goodbye, Spotify, we had a good time but now it is time to move on…

Spotify really going downhill. Still no HomePod support, and now can't even reset password nor connect google/Apple login methods. Get a grip Spotify!

@pete_rico84 how about a shuffle play list that actually shuffles your entire playlist instead of just 20 songs and repeat them over and over again. I went on a 4hr drive yesterday and heard the same song 3x, how's that even possible on a 1742 song playlist?

The fact is, Spotify doesn't give a S#t about their paid customers, I've been paying for my family plan since Spotify Started, myself and my wife are both Spotify loyal customers and both on apple devices, I'm seriously considering switching to Apple Music, I already pay for apple anyway, and since we upgraded our speakers at home to homepods i've been using Apple music more and more...

All I need is to transfer my playlist to Apple and my family subscription is going to go bye bye... there is nothing on Spotify that really holds me there, other than the years of years of curating playlists.

Apple Music: lossless audio, homepod support, better shuffle playlists, works much better with Siri...

pate_rico84

Yeah, unfortunately I’m also listening to those same 20 tracks over and over and over and…
I wouldn’t even need Spotify for that!

Look at the great Spotify Shuffle out of my 1749 song play list. This is what it chose as a shuffle playlist for me:
Check the first screenshot, the song that is currently playing in the Queue.
Now look at the second last song on the queue playlist of the second screenshot.
How hard can it be to properly shuffle a playlist in its entirety and not repeat a song until everything is played?
If they can't get this right, do you think we are hoping for too much to have Homepod support????
