[iOS] Implement Native HomePod Support

Details

Just this week at WWDC (June 22, 2020), Apple announced support for third party music services on the HomePod.  I'm requesting that Spotify implement native support for the HomePod such that one or even multiple HomePods will appear in the "Connect to a device" menu on any Apple device WITHOUT having to connect through Airplay.  This will also allow users to ask Siri to play songs from Spotify on their HomePod(s).

Apple is opening up the HomePod, and I know there are many other HomePod users that would love to have native Spotify support on their speaker.

I seriously dont understand why it is taking so long. I just bought a homepod in expectation that there will be native support from spotify since its a no-brainer. But now im stuck with shitty AirPlay 1? Id love to stay on spotify bu if there wont be any support soon I will move my family account to apple music. Cant be true that this is even a topic to vote on...

I really want to have the best experience when listening to Spotify on my HomePod. Please consider this request!

I’d love for this to be implemented, otherwise it’s looking likely I’ll have to swap over to Apple Music 😞

Come on Spotify team, don’t leave us hanging here 🙋🏽‍♂️

I can only agree with previous posters – I don't get the point why let Apple users stuck with AirPlay 1. It can't be that you don't want us to use great multiroom, as many many other speakers use Spotify Connect in combination with their own multiroom protocols flawlessly. With a HomePod it's just crappy. Adding native HomePod support NOW will bring you a lot of new users (a huge number of HomePod minis is being sold right now) – and prevent losing A LOT of existing users. I just got a free month Apple Music again – otherwise I would maybe never have found out that the stuttering audio on my Sonos in my bathroom isn't because of bad WiFi, but because of Spotify not implementing AirPlay 2 nor Spotify Connect on HomePod (impossible to use HomePod + Sonos together with Spotify at the moment). If you don't change anything Spotify I will switch back to Apple Music (even with their much worse playlists and so on)…

Love Spotify, use it for years now. Bought two HomePods lately cause I heard about Apple opening up this fall. Now, realizing that my batteries are sucked dry quickly using AirPlay 1 and neither Airplay 2 (state-of-the-art) is supported nor a realistic chance is given that native HomePod support could be implemented any time soon (community research on idea process and times until implementation of new features or progress is made regarding feature requests based on votes), I‘m seriously considering a switch to Apple Music.

As convenience is defined differently in late 2020 I can only hope for this to be a misconception.

Please Spotify, prove me wrong and all the other guys thinking that this is some kind of Spotify - Apple kindergarten breeze carried out on the shoulders of (paying) customers and that you can actually hear the bells ringing regarding HomePod Mini.

**bleep**. I've just found this: https://community.spotify.com/t5/Live-Ideas/iOS-Apple-Watch-Spotify-Streaming-and-Offline-Listening/...

Looks like Spotify will never implement this. I have no idea how can they sue Apple and never implement their APIs...

Spotify now support streaming of music to the apple watch since a few weeks. Offline access is not possible yet.

But I agree with you guys. Spotify on HomePod is a requirements. I ordered two HomePod Mini because the HomePod is the only usable smart speakers which is offered by a company who is not interested in collecting my data.

How many more likes are needed? Seems to have broad support.
