[iOS] Implement Native HomePod Support

Details

Just this week at WWDC (June 22, 2020), Apple announced support for third party music services on the HomePod.  I'm requesting that Spotify implement native support for the HomePod such that one or even multiple HomePods will appear in the "Connect to a device" menu on any Apple device WITHOUT having to connect through Airplay.  This will also allow users to ask Siri to play songs from Spotify on their HomePod(s).

Apple is opening up the HomePod, and I know there are many other HomePod users that would love to have native Spotify support on their speaker.

What is the current status? Will spotify support the homepod or is the development working on it?

I've been a Spotify premium subscriber for 9 yrs now and this is the first time I've been disappointed.  I've been switching to Apple products from the Google ecosystem (for privacy and customer support reasons), and was surprised that Spotify wasn't already supported natively on the HomePod.  When Apple announced that 3rd party music services would be supported, I was sure that Spotify would be one of the first.  And here we are, half a year later and still no native Siri support from Spotify.  I'll wait a few more months, but then I'm going to start looking around for a service that is supported with Siri on HomePod.

Adios Spotify. It’s taking too long.

I’m on the edge of my seat toward switching to Spotify (or at least giving it a full chance) and I can’t do that until this is added. You’ve had since June 2020.

I emailed this thread to this newspaper as they seem to have a lot of articles on Spotify. None that I spotted specifically on this issue.

Maybe they will pick it up.

If this isn’t implemented in the next couple months I am going to cancel Spotify for Apple Music.

I passed the matter to TechRadar .. Maybe they will pick up. So far The Guardian and What HiFi have not responded. Nor has Stereophile but they have only had since 1 December.

Am considering switching to apple music as well since Spotify doesn’t seem interested in integrating with the HomePod.
