3-dot menu on Now Playing View crashes iOS app

Hey folks!

We're getting reports that accessing the song menu (3-dot menu) on NPV is causing the app to crash on iOS devices. This is being looked into.

We're happy to announce that this should now be fixed for everyone - just make sure you're running the latest version of Spotify.

Hey folks,

 

This should now be resolved 🙂 

Make sure your apps are up to date and, in case you spot this again, try removing your cached data or performing a complete clean reinstall of the app.

 

Should the issue remain, let us know what your device is, alongside its OS version and your Spotify app version.

Also having this issue. I’m hoping we have a solution that doesn’t only require updating IOS considering I have an older iPhone that isn’t able to update to 18.

Nah, the 9.0.0 update didn't fix it at all for me, same thing still happening every time i press the 3 dots.

Partially fixed the problem. Can now access the menu via the three dots and select all options apart from when accessing “Show Spotify Code” which on exiting crashes the app as before.

Ok so I updated to Spotify 9.0.0 and the issue seems to be fixed (on my phone at least), which means NO MORE CRASHES WOO HOO!!!

 

Not sure what you guys at Spotify did but it worked! Thanks 🙂

Having the same problem on iOS 15 iPod 7th Gen. I also can’t access the queue list or the full lyrics display for songs without it crashing.

I have the same problem but it also crashes whenever I tap the queue button to check the list of queued up songs, causing the app to instantly crash one second later. It’s incredulously infuriating. I hope this gets fixed soon. i already have the most recent update of Spotify, I even clean reinstalled, deleted my cache and removed all my downloads, not to mention restarted my phone multiple times only for nothing to work. I am at a loss for what else to do. @Vasil
