[Desktop] Spotify won't resume after pause with bluetooth headphones

I'm unable to resume after i pause the music for a few minutes with my headphones over bluetooth.

Hey everyone,

Thank you for reporting this issue to us.

We just wanted to let you know that the right folks are looking into this.

We're not able to provide an exact timeline for a fix, but we'd recommend always keeping your Spotify app and all devices fully up-to-date.

Thanks!

I have this same problem at least once a day with my MBP and bluetooth headphones. It often happens after switching communication modes for video/audio conference calls.

MacOS: 10.15.3

Spotify version: 1.1.32.618.gda5638a6

Bluetooth headphones: Jabra elite 85h

In order to avoid this problem, I'm not pausing the songs anymore. I mute them.

It's like that broken furniture that, instead of fixing, you find a slightly less annoying way to use it.
After 2,5 years of annoyance, you might want to replace the furniture.

Same issue here, after pausing while using bluetooth headphones Spotify shows a message "Can't play current song" have to quit the app and reopen for it to start working.

Macbook Pro 13-inch, 2017

macOS Catalina 10.15.41

Spotify version: 1.1.32.618.gda5638a6

I'm using Airpod Pros.

This thread was opened 2,5 years ago and there's still no solution to this. During this time the mainstream headphone industry shifted mainly to Bluetooth. I'm sure Spotify is aware of this. Can you please make some effort and fix this? Thanks!

I also got this issue for months now, maybe years, I'm not sure.

It's happens on my personal macbook (2015) AND the one from my company (2018/19 with touchbar).

Both are on Catalina last version but it also occurred before Catalina.

I have to restart Spotify multiple times during the day... I thinking to switch for web application now... this is really annoying.

I hope you guys will be able to fix that 🙏

Also having this issue multiple times a day. 2017 13-Inch MacBook Pro. Generally resolved if I quit out of and reopen the Spotify app.

I've been experiencing the same problem at least 10 times a day for months. It's extremely annoying.

I currently use 2019 MacBook Pro with Mac OS X 10.15, but the same problem used to happen with my previous 2016 MacBook. I use bluetooth headphones. When I pause Spotify and then after some times pases I try to resume, no sounds comes out. After couple more seconds the "can't play the current song" message comes up. Sound in all other applications work without any issues. The only way to get Spotify to work again when this happens is to restart it. So I'm constantly restarting Spotify, over and over again, every single day. I love Spotify, but because of this issue I'm ready to give up and switch to another streaming service.
