Downtime September 16th, 2025: Users unable to log in and/or play content

We're seeing reports from users not being able to log in to Spotify or play music.

This should now be fixed for everyone. If you're still having issues, try restarting your device.

Mines still not working I can’t log into the app but I can log into Spotify on safari

My Question or Issue

App logged me off, get an error when trying to log in again

Same issue started today,

Can't log in every time I receive "Something went wrong. Try again" 

 

This needs to be fixed.

 

I have tried a clean install, changing the wifi, cellular, and so on, but nothing is working.

I'm finding Spotify just won't play anything.  I get logged in fine.  I double checked https://www.spotify.com/us/download/windows/ & I have the latest version installed.  But nothing plays.  Nothing in my playlist.  I even tried a couple of songs from the Discover Weekly playlist.  Nothing plays.  It displays my playlist.  It displays my play queue (I have random play turned on).  But nothing plays.  If you think this is solved, I suggest you need to revisit the issue.  Last time everything was fine for me was 2025/9/16 about 4:00AM, 5:00AM.  I hadn't tried listening again until just now (2025/9/19 about 3:30AM).  So the problem appears to have started shortly after I was last playing anything & it has been a problem since then.  You claim to have fixed it.  Not for me.

 

Just for grins & giggles, I tried getting into the web player, something I hardly ever do.  My normal thing is to run the Windows desktop app.  The web player does the same thing as the desktop app: Sorry, we can't play this right now.

Hmmm........  Now everything is fine.  All I did was wait a few hours.  There is no new version of Spotify.  It's still 1.2.72.438.g8c88c31c.  And now it plays.  Thank you to the shadowy person who fixed the problem without posting about it here.

Im in France if that can help and it still doesnt work, been like this for like 2 or 3 days

Liker?  Sérieux?  Liker?  Franchement, c'est trop.  Je ne peux plus me retenir.  Il me semble que la langue de Molière, la langue maternelle du hockey, se plante.  Elle est dans le pétrin.  Liker . . .  Si je savais qu'il suffisait d'apprendre le, la, les, un, deux, trois, et pour le reste c'est l'anglais, je n'aurais pas wasté neuf years complètes à studyé le français.  J'aurais pu tout skipper en faveur de quelque chose plus useful, comme le design de computer software user interfaces.  Liker . . .   Pitoyable.  Où est préférer?  Aimer?  Favoriser?  Et moi je ne suis pas francophone.  Assurément, un francophone peut trouver d'autres choix plus à propos.  Liker?  La paresse se répand partout.
