Playback issues related to the next song in the queue

We received reports that upon attempting to play a song that's been added to the queue manually (via the Add to queue option), the playback stops completely and the play buttons on the Now Playing View become greyed out, thus preventing advancing to the next track.

Thanks for your patience while we looked into this issue.

 

We're happy to announce that the queue playback should now be functioning properly for everyone running app version 9.0.8 (iOS and Android) and 1.2.53.440 (desktop). If you don't see the update on your end just yet, rest assured it's coming your way in the next couple of days.

 

To ensure you're running the latest version of Spotify available, it's worth performing a clean reinstall of the app.

 

If you're still having trouble with playback or anything else, you can post a new thread in the relevant Help board here.

I’m having the same issue on my phone, it plays one song then goes to a black screen. Same with podcasts.

I am having an issue with Spotify on both my iPhone and Laptop. The autoplay no longer works consistently. I've noticed this for about 2-3 months on my phone. I have checked to make sure it is turned on. Occasionally I am able to do a clean reinstall of the app on my phone and it will fix the issue for a few days before it stops working. I am now trying to listen to Spotify using the app on my laptop (Windows) but again it just repeats whatever song I selected. Please fix this, this feature is super important and having to clean reinstall every few days is getting tiring.
I already had,This problem with my old phone Android, that Spotify freezes after playing one song, and i tought it was The phone, but then i changed to iPhone and the problem remains!Any ideias?

This is also happening to me. It won’t add to my library either.

i’m having this issue except with local file songs. i’ll swipe to add them to my queue and the message shows up, but it doesn’t play or show in the queue. please help

This still seems to be a problem on xbox and mac as every time an ad is about to play, the skip buttons become greyed out, the ad never plays and nothing can be selected until I force close the app on any platform. This has been happening to me for about 2 months, but just recently the ads have been playing now, but after the ad, the skip buttons on every platform become unresponsive, forcing me to force close. This happens about every 5-7 songs.

I am having the problem now. I have everything updated, Spotify and iOS

Next song not playing on pc. Sometimes stops after one song sometimes after a couple of songs. Works fine on Android but not on PC. If not corrected soon I'll cancel my subscriptions.
