Search in "Add to playlist" menu not working

We've received reports that the search function in the "Add to Playlist" menu doesn't work properly. When something is searched, it causes the menu to become unresponsive. The issue appears to be predominantly on Android.

Our own testing and the info from you shows that this issue is fixed in version 9.0.96Make sure your apps are up-to-date and perform a clean reinstall if necessary to get this rolling again.

Here's my experience, a workaround, and a bug:

 

Inside add to playlist pop-up, nothing happens when I search.

 

However, when I then enter a folder and then navigate back to top level, the search then takes effect! However, there's then no way to clear it.

We're happy to report that a fix for this has been deployed in the latest version of the app 9.0.96, which is now out for both Android and iOS. Make sure your apps are up-to-date and let us know if everything is resolved for you. Perform a clean reinstall if necessary to bring the app in working order again.

This issue has been ongoing for WEEKS!

 

The 'done' button in the same 'save to playlist' function has been removed and added and then removed again too. Not having the 'done' button makes it difficult to complete the task: the only option is to swipe down to remove the 'save to playlist' window, but this usually ends up bring the mobile phone drop-down window down instead! 

 

There is ALSO no way to order the playlists (i.e. alphabetically), so trying to find the playlist required by scrolling through them is very difficult. 

 

One of the joys of using Spotify is being able to create and edit playlists, and these issues are making that very, very difficult. 

 

Please, please, pleeeeaaase SORT THESE SILLY ISSUES OUT!

@philemonmercury there is a way to organize your playlists. You can create a folder system and send playlists there. You need to do it on the PC app tho, since mobile client don't have this feature. Check it, it's quite good.

This may have been fixed, but after the update, I’m experiencing a new issue: playlists inside folders don’t appear in the add-to-playlist UI on mobile (Android). I made a thread about it here. If anyone has the same issue, please chime in! This is pretty frustrating.

It's great that for some ppl the issue is fixed, for me isn't, I performed the clean reinstall as suggested, and nothing changed, the search bar still not working at all. My phone is very organized, cache clean etc ... I miss the old interface 😞

 

Okay, I'm editing this comment almost 24hrs later, apparently the issue has been fixed.
