Songs in Play queue are duplicated

Hey folks!

 

We've received reports that deleting or adding songs in the play queue creates duplicates. This issue only seems to affect the mobile app and playlists with over 50 songs. This is being looked into.

We can confirm that this issue should be resolved as long as you're updated to the following app versions:

  • Desktop: 1.2.44.329
  • Android: 8.9.66.358
  • iOS: 8.9.66.288

I've just started having this issue as well, haven't used spotify in a while so don't know exactly when it began, but yesterday and today it's been doing this exact thing. Any solution been found?

Hi. I am also having the same issue.

I have that issue on my devices, but it is more apparent on my PC.

Any idea on whether this is a bug that can be fixed?

If you haven't already, please make sure to provide the following info so we can correctly forward your reports to the relevant teams:

  • Does this happen across all your devices?
  • The exact Spotify version you're running.
  • The make/model and OS of the affected devices.

Just updated my app and can confirm that this issue is still occurring on the latest Android app version, 8.9.56.618. Nothing else has changed, still using a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G running Android 14.

My Question or Issue

Every time I shuffle a playlist a few of the songs in the queue will duplicate and I'll have the same song several times in a row and I can't remove it from my queue. I have to skip repeatedly to get to the next song.

1. This happened on the desktop app, the web app, and the mobile apps on my phone and tablet.

2. Version 8.9.54 on iPad, 8.9.56.618 on Android, 1.2.41.434.g39a25e2c on Windows.

3. For iPad, it's the 11-inch iPad Pro M1 running iPadOS 17.5.1. For Android, it's the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra (SM-S918W) running Android 14. For my PC, it's a custom built PC running Windows 11.

 

The problem was less noticable on the iPad, a little more noticeable on Android, and far more noticeable on Windows. And I just updated the app on both my mobile devices.

Issue has been occurring since update and looks similar to what others describe -  anywhere between 1 and a dozen songs repeating in the queue in various permutations, occasionally 1 song which repeats for at least 3 full queue clears before I give up and reshuffle which fixes it very briefly before the problem occurs again

Have checked for updates, deleted and redownloaded, tried both on and offline to no avail

I have been having the same issue, though both on mobile and desktop - I actually noticed it on the desktop first.

I am on the student plan, and using this version: Spotify for Windows (64 bit)1.2.41.434.g39a25e2c

 

Also the album images don't seem to always load anymore, though that seems to be a more recent issue. 

I have attached a screenshot that shows both issues on my desktop app.

I am also having the same issues as other people are describing in the thread. It started last week on the 11th or 12th.

 

I am using an iPhone 15 Pro Max, IOS Version 17.5.1 and version 8.9.54.343 on Spotify (student plan). I hope everything works out!
