Spotify app is skipping after a few seconds on Samsung TVs

We've received reports that the Spotify app is skipping after a few seconds, with multiple mentions of Samsung TVs.  The reports note that tracks are playing without audio on the Samsung TV devices, and trouble-shooting has already been tried.

Thank you for reporting this to us. An issue has been identified regarding skipping on Samsung TVs. The right folks are looking into this and working on a solution.

 

We're not able to provide an exact timeline for a fix, but we'd recommend always keeping your Samsung TV's firmware and also the Spotify app up to date. This way you will ensure you're on the latest version and will receive the fix as soon as it's out.

 

For anyone experiencing this with a different TV brand, make sure to share your details in this thread.

I had the same problem, no sound and endless skipping of playlist on my android tv app. I solved it in my setup and i believe this post is the solution, because i can toggle the error. It's a home network problem. My setup: I have an internet fiber modem/router and behind it a TPlink deco mesh system. This runs in Router mode (default for many devices). Several android/web instances of spotify are running on this mesh network. When changing the Deco system to Acces Point mode (thus expanding the network from the fibermodem/router) the problem dissapeared instantly. Switching back to router mode initiated the problem again. What also worked was connecting the TV with wifi of utp cable to the Deco system when in router mode.

 

Multiple spotify instances on the same network are communicating with eachother when running from the same internet ip adress. The problem occurs when a spotify device on layer 2 (which is able to connect to layer 1) but the spotify device on layer 1 cannot connect to layer 2 due to the inaccessable router settings when in router mode -> ERROR! skipping fail etc initiated.

 

The setup when NOT working: (Android TV directly is the ISP modem)

SOLUTION:

Basically all registered devices (including the (android) TV) must be on the same network AND in the same ip range.

Developer promise me to fix that problem in max couple weeks, he says will be actualization. After couple months there is no newest version of app. Couple months! So yesterday i left subscribe for better sound in Android Music. F..ck that sh.t

My Question or Issue

Sometimes there is no sound from Tizen Spotify even though playback is progressing. If the Tizen player is turned off, playback continues normally on the web player, but not vice versa. Confusing behavior.

This is an issue with the connection of Samsung TV to the WiFi.

 

This solution helps (until restart the TV):

 

Just disconnect and reconnect to WiFi with the TV

 

and Spotify works again.

I have the same problem on my Samsung Q60CA 65 TV. Spotify plays videos fine but all the songs without video it plays 10s and skips song.

Hola, oigan yo tengo un problema, mientras escucho canciones después de un rato de la canción, o de que haya escuchado unas 2 canciones de quita, literalmente se quita y si le vuelvo a poner para que se reproduzca de nuevo se repite la canción, está raro por que siempre me pasa no importa si es con audífonos o sin audífonos.

yo bro any fixes on this. Just bought my tv and it jumps to 27 seconds of the song even when it starts normally. This bugs the lyrics and it kinda irritates me. If there are any fixes pls update.
