[iOS] Playlists appears empty

We're seeing reports that some users are unable to see songs in playlists - both on their own playlists and in Spotify-curated playlists.

This seems to be affecting iOS mobile devices only.

Hey everyone,

Thanks for your patience while this was being looked into!

We have good news from our teams - the issues with playlists appearing empty on iOS should now be fixed! We're also happy to see more confirmations from you that things are working after trying the workaround with changing language settings.

Should you experience an issue with similar symptoms on Android, make sure to check this thread for more details, as we'll be locking this iOS related thread.

Cheers 🙂

As someone mentioned in another reply, you can use a service to transfer your playlists to another service provider. All our Spotify playlists are still available, but there’s an issue with our device authentication or something.

plays on MacBook, web browser but not on the iPhone app. reinstalled iOS as a new phone. problem remains.

It will play podcasts - so it can access your servers

I’m on iOS 18.5 and latestt version of spotify.
• Spotify Premium account (but the issue persists even with a Spotify test account support provided)
• Songs do not play on iPhone (shows “Go online”), but podcasts work
• App plays normally on MacBook, Web Player, and Apple TV
• Spotify Connect works from iPhone to control other devices — but playback won’t transfer to iPhone

Troubleshooting Done:
• Logged out everywhere
• Cleared cache and reinstalled app multiple times
• Disabled VPNs, Private Relay, and reset network settings
• Set up iPhone as a new device with clean install of iOS 18.5
• Tried both Wi-Fi and cellular
• Confirmed test account has same issue

Please escalate this to your engineering team — it appears to be either:
1. A token/device authentication rejection on Spotify’s backend for my iPhone
2. Or a compatibility bug between Spotify and iOS 18.5

Is this a Spotify issue? Or an Apple issue to 'encourage' people to move?

The spotify connect only worked when I changed the password as this resets the 'token'

This has happened since April. Two Spotify updates and an ios update. If Spotify think it's an Apple issue let us know?

Sexyboy

Spotify just updated to 9.0.50.511

and ……

it’s the same.

Anyone else get told they won’t reimburse as it’s over 14 days since the app stopped working. I have gone round and round with Support and still nothing. I have tried every trick and then get treat like I’m the **bleep**. Come on Spotify sort your **bleep** out!

Just started having this problem.

Web browser version works fine. I also made a secondary account for mobile which also works fine, but my main account doesn't show any of my data even after resetting the app, clearing all data, uninstalling etc
