My Question or Issue
Hello,
I'm a Twitch Affiliate and was wondering if I was allowed to embed or post a link in a Twitch panel or in the Twitch chat window for my viewers to listen? I often like to listen to my music playlists on Spotify while I play games or make art on stream but since most of the on my playlist are copyrighted and I don't own the proper license, I don't allow the audio form Spotify to play through my stream's audio. This means that while I'm listening to my Spotify on my PC, the viewers cannot hear the music playing on stream.
But recently I got the idea of using Spotify's share features like embedding to direct people viewing my streams can listen to the same music I'm listening to through their own Spotify account and not through my Twitch stream's audio.
Would this be ok? I'm asking because while I know that Spotify allows users to share playlists on social media sites, but I wasn't sure that included streaming sites like Twitch. I was also concerned that it might not be allowed because as a Twitch Affiliate, I do earn money from Twitch via Bit donations and Viewer Subscriptions, and I didn't know if including a link to my Spotify playlist would be considered a commercial use because of that.
My intention is to include and link or embed of the playlist for it to be viewable to anyone visiting my Twitch channel. My Twitch channel is accessible free-of-charge to the public while the playlist itself is publicly available to anyone with a Spotify account and would not be hidden behind a paywall. I also would not imply or claim that I was in any way affiliated with Spotify.
Would this be allowed, or would I be violating the terms of service/copyright in any way? Thank you.
