Clicking on the album art for the currently playing song no longer jumps to that song's position in the current playlist. Instead, it takes me to the album page associate with that track. Except it doesn't even take me to the album page as if I had clicked on the track title. Instead, it takes me to the very bottom of the album page. This is not useful in any way, so I'm going to give spotify the benefit of the doubt and assume this is a bug and not a newly introduced feature.
If this is a new feature for some reason, well, I guess we'll burn that bridge when we come to it.

@Oakeybloke wrote:If this is regression of functionality (i.e. no way to jump to currently playing song), will you now be charging me less money every month?
Yes. 5 EUR less for the missing "heart" indicator, 5EUR less for the missing "jump to current position in playlist". With the next crippling change, we get Spotify for free.
I understand that this makes the change similar to the mobile app, but I wish there was still a way to find the Now Playing song's position on the playlist it is being played from. I play a gigantic playlist at work in alphabetical order so I know where I left off each day, so this change forces me to scroll for ages instead of just jumping to the currently playing song.
Bigger screen should mean more functionality. Spotify, don't break your desktop app just so it can behave "more like the mobile app". Please revert this change or this paying customer will find an alternative service (based on other recent changes I've already started looking).
Also, clicking the Album Cover automatically scrolls to the song location in the playlist.
It was very handy for resequencing playlists.
Click the album cover and bam!, there it is.., Sequence # 142, Drag to the top, now it's # 5.
Yet another useful feature removed for no reason whatsoever.
This is so inconvenient now!
So now there's no option to show the currently playing song in the currently playing playlist? I used that feature all the time, now I need to scroll around for ages to find the song that's playing! Super inconvenient!
Please, return ability to focus on current played song in playlist.

We already had that feature. It was available by clicking "^" on the album cover. Why remove a feature to make another one redundant?
Hello Yordan,
Can you please tell us another method to jump to the position of the currently playing Song in the current playlist?
And if this feature is no longer available, could you please ask the developers/UX-designers for the reason behind this decision? I used this all the time to navigate in playlists.
This change is really very very frustrating
premium-account, desktop app, windows 10
I used this feature to see when the song was added to a playlist because it showed the playlist and the song's position on that playlist. Now, I have to scroll all the way down and hope to find the song. Will there be something that can replicate this removed feature?
Worse decision ever. Are PM at Spotify even listening to users?
This feature stopped working on the PC desktop version. Now it is simply providing yet another way to open and close the Now Playing View (which isn't very helpful). Please bring back the ability to jump to the song in the playlist (as that is a feature I used often).
We're not using the mobile app though. It was fine before, why change it?
Please instead have the mobile app provide the capability to jump to the song's location in the playlist. It is annoying that the mobile app doesn't provide that feature and now even more annoying that it was broken/removed from the desktop app.
I just discovered this new epic failure in the Spotify UI. It's one of the major ones, incredibly annoying. Searching the forum, I could not find one positive posting on that matter. What are they thinking??
This is a big disappointment, please revert it.
I agree that this change is totally lame. I found very useful to click on the small picture and jump to the related position in the currently playing playlist. PLEASE bring it back, thanks! 🙏
Please fix this asap Spotify! Kind regards/Plombom
