Yes it's so frustrating! I thought I had done something inadvertently. Someone fix this please
same problem here, at least it wasn’t on my end alone
Same issue for me after allowing it to update this morning. Wish there was a way on Fire TV to revert back to the old version! Hoping Spotify fixes soon.
Same issue here. Hoping they realize they **bleep** up.
Ok so I'm wondering, if this is a Fire TV or a Spotify issue. Its been going on a few days now, and its past time it was fixed. I even reset my fire tv, and reloaded my Spotify.
Yeah same here. Still has this issue. The app is a bit buggy, it often randomly turns off, or the sound dips off for 10 seconds and little things like that. But you can live with that sort of thing. Certainly not this! A bjt disheartening that this has had no solutions posted yet...
It's definitely something related to the app; like everyone else, this only started happening after the recent update. Spotify doesn't seem to have the "always on" permission, and so the whole TV shuts off after exactly 14 minutes (which is when the Fire TV's screensaver is supposed to kick in; you can see the 14 minutes in the notifications section).
I've got Spotify version 1.76.1. I've tried clearing the data and cache, force stop and relaunching the app, and even uninstalling the app entirely and reinstalling, but nothing has worked. I have an Insignia TV, with Fire OS version 6.2.9.6 (NS6296/4555) and Fire TV home version 6450027.1 - the Fire TV it is up to date per the settings.
I've submitted this through an actual person in Spotify's customer service, so it should be logged as a known issue for them now. They should be replying to this community thread once the issue has been resolved.
Thank you! I really appreciate that
Thanks to you too! Hopefully it's fixed soon
I am having the same issue since updating the Spotify app yesterday morning on my Omni Fire TV. What a pain this is, hope they get this figured out soon. I use this daily.
Having the same issue on my Omni Fire TV after the Spotify update of 1.76.1 was installed yesterday morning.
Same here on Fire TV 4K.
Same issue. I've found as a workaround that if I turn on Show Lyrics then it doesn't close though.
Thanks for this, nice temp fix while they get it sorted
Same problem here -- hoping this gets fixed sooner rather than later.
Spotify: Version 2023.06.05_2766ss85 E release-v2.260-4-g7aadfb2-mlvhz HEAD-v3.202.356-gb9be1e6c 1.76.1
Fire TV Stick 4K Max
Fire TV OS Version: Fire OS 7.6.4.6 (PS7646/3554)
If you change the settings of screensaver to ‘never turn on automatically’ and you will be fine until they find a solution for this
Didn't work for me.
