Fire TV app turns off after 20 minutes

Fire TV app turns off after 20 minutes

I downloaded an update for the Fire TV app today, and ever since, the Spotify app turns off after 20 mins.

This appears to be because the Fire TV stick doesn't recognise that the Spotify app is running, as it displays stock images/screensaver after 5 minutes, then switches off entirely after 20 minutes. This is what the Fire Stick does when it's not in use while the TV is on, so it's almost like it doesn't "know" the Spotify app is running.

The sound is not affected until the switch-off at 20 mins. This has only happened since the update, so maybe it's something to do with that? The Fire TV app can be a little bit buggy, but nothing like this has happened before.

Not a fan of that because I still want the fire stick to turn off
automatically when I'm not using it. I just don't need the fire stick to
think I'm not using it when I am clearly listening to music.

Same issue. This only happened after the update to 1.76.1. Pretty sure it is an issue with the app and not the TV. Spotify stops playing every 15 or 30 minutes exactly. Already did the factory reset, cleared the cache, and uninstalled and reinstalled the app. I also have an Insignia TV.

it’s super frustrating! i thought i was the only one and that i was going crazy. hopefully they fix this soon.

I'm having the same exact issue. Please fix it. Thanks KM

I just had an update, notice on my Spotify, so thought good its fixed.  And nope still shuts down after 20 minutes.  I love Spotify.  I enjoy listening through the Fire Stick.  It would be really nice to see this fixed.

My Question or Issue

Spotify on Amazon Fire Stick stops playing playlists after 10 minutes.
The TV screen goes black, and the fire stick falls back to its home page.
There is no error message.
I have already tried to reinstall Spotify app, but it does not help.

My Question or Issue

I try to stream music on the Spotify app on my Amazon Fire Stick 4k Max and the audio does not play through the speakers. Usually it just keeps skipping songs, but sometimes it stops altogether. Audio plays fine through YouTube on the Stick through the same speakers so I know the internet is fine. Also, Spotify streams fine on all my other devices (Windows and Android). I have tried updating the app, clearing the app cache, and uninstalling and reinstalling the app.

Didn't work for me either

I am having the same problem and only since updating Spotify.  I have tried everything I can think of.  So frustrating!

I have the same issue. In my case, the Spotify app turns off the host television and soundbar. Started last week. Like you have uninstalled and reinstalled the app.

Same issue. Spotify is the ONLY app on my Fire Stick 4K that turns off after 20 minutes.  This is a SPOTIFY issue. Please fix

MLB.tv, no issue, Youtube, No issue, Pandora, no issue, Amazon music, no issue, Spotify, off in 20......

Same issue... Spotify is the only app on my Insignia Fire TV that turns off after 15 minutes

i just recently got a fire tv and have this same issue. I thought my tv was having power issues until i realized it was a spotify thing. it seems to not be communicating that audio only is the app working as intended and assumes if it goes into screensaver and there’s no response you’re afk which is a fine setting for most apps, just not an audio one.

same issue here

I read an Amazon based thread today that said they are aware of it and are working on it on their end.

I tried turning screensaver to never. The problem still occurred despite that attempt at a workaround. The only thing close is to tap the show lyrics button and hope that there are lyrics for the song at the 14-minute mark of listening to content.

Please link the thread

I have the same issue! Please keep us updated when you see they resolved it? 😊
