My Question or Issue
After the latest update to Heos the connection between Spotify and Heos have been shaky. It works fine with TuneIn, Tidal etc, but playing from Spotify will make speakers change in volume, music stopping altogether for a while, and generally irrational behaving. I have done a clean install of Spotify and the Heos app on my phone. The same problem occurs also on other phones. I have a variety of Heos speakers from different generations and also one Denon Home speaker.
I got a feedback today from my hi-fi retailer that Denon has promised a firmware update by end of July.
I wrote the Denon support, too. Same answer. The know about that, they try to help, but do not know when this will be possible.
Same issue here.
Same issue. Music plays on my sound bar for a few minutes then drops out.
Heos seem very slow to respond to an issue that affects many and has been around some time.
Having a party soon, so I hope it is resolved in the next week or two.
Same issue here. On the phone with Denon now inquiring about an update or possible solution. A summer bummer nobody needs.
I set all mine back to factory defaults and Spotify working perfectly, my HEOS7 HS2 is still on the latest firmware and works fine, so it’s only the Series 1 hardware.
if this is denons way of getting me to upgrade they’ll be losing a customer.
Only pain is you can’t use the heos app as wants to force an update but will live with that to have Spotify working for now.
hopefully firmware fix by end of July but not holding my breath.
Has anyone noticed any development on this yet?
I have the same issue with Heos 1 (Version 1) whereas all my other Heos Hs2 devices work perfectly fine.
The Version 1 is creating above mentioned issues even when wired via Cat-cable (no need to try and tweak your wifi - most likely this won't help). It seems like some songs create issues while other songs do not. Not sure why .. maybe depending on the server that is hosting particular songs. Could also be one of those gritty ipv4 vs ipv6 issues. Really looking forward for the fix.
Same issue here! Following the thread for a swift fix....
WORKAROUND: I took a Google Chromecast, generation 3 but I don't think that matter, and connected it to an HDMI extractor and sent the sound to the AUX IN on my Heos Amp with a 3.5 mm jack. From Spotify you can cast to Google Chrome. Good to know for the future. As long as you're able to access the Heos app and can turn on AUX IN you're not reliant on Heos and Spotify working together.
Here with the same issue, on 3 HEOS devices (HS2, Link and 5).
Has anyone heard anything about this issue from Denon?
Joining the party as well my an X2400h AVR. Denon software sucks beyond belief. It’s the third time in as many years that an “update” breaks part of the functionality.
Same issue here. I already deleted and reinstalles Heos and Spotify but issue remains. Pretty annoying if you consider the investment (2xHeos7, 1xHeos soundbar, 2xHeos3 and 1 Heos Home250). If Heos works with all other apps, it must be an issue with Spotify. Maybe a bribe from Sonos 😉
Spotify works with everything else too! It’s a Denon firmware issue that has broken the Spotify integration. Absolutely abysmal service from a supposedly “Premium” supplier. Won’t ever be buying Denon again.
I have the same issue - Spotify has 30 days from today to collaborate with Heos to fix it or I am cancelling my premium subscription. This issue has been known for over 90 days and is impacting with IOS and android users.
Spotify is better than Pandora, but Pandora will get my $$ if not fixed in 30 days or less.
Today I installed a Heos firmware update and this issue now finally seems to be resolved. Spotify and Heos are now working smoothly on my setup (3x Heos 5, 1x Heos One, 2x Links, Denon AV Receiver)
Me too, worked for 30 minuters.. 😭🤣🤬
Uninstalled HEOS from a 10 year old ipad and reinstalled it on my phone only.
been working for an hour now. Fingers crossed!
The most recent update seems to have fixed this.
Worked for about 30 minutes. Unbelievable.
