I've attached an example of some Direct marketing sent my way.
How can I stop it?

this is NOT solved and keeps affecting users.
I encourage EVERYONE in the US to go file an FTC complaint against spotify for this rampant theft and false advertising
Guys, the artists dont make money with music on spotify. They are basically giving it to you for free. They only make money with concerts... so please be so kind and support it and take that ad with a smile. it's not like target wants to sell you something here....
Hey Nhiitachi, never reply
to me again. You just proved that you don’t deserve respect from any of us.
also, burner account and that’s your only comment?
YOU WORK FOR SPOTIFY
so glad I stopped giving this company my money.
Nhiitachi, there aren't enough eye-rolls in the world for this response. This is 100% Spotify trying to take another bite out of your wallet by pretending to be on the side of artists through ads instead of paying bands more. If you buy a ticket through that link, it tracks it back to Spotify, which is "proof" that they "care" and more ad money for them. If it were a legit boon for the artist there would be an option to turn it off if, artist by artist, once we saw it and either weren't interested in a local show or had tickets to it already. Instead it's a pop-up every f^cking time we open the app.
I have cancelled my premium subscription over this issue.
Spotify. this is pure garbage, pls stop! If I want to hear new/other artists, I play other playlists, including spotify ones. My own playlist(s) is my own. Otherwise, I'm out! this is quite upsetting I have to say.
I have even received pop-up not just banner. This is 100 percent advertising to premium users.

I am already growing sick of the concert banner at the top, which is blatant advertising.
But now i am furious with full page advertising those same concerts.
Stop this money grabbing.
Or at the very least add a setting to stop this.
Sometimes these are pop ups that take up the entire screen! I pay for premium to avoid ads. Or I could stop paying for premium and switch to Apple Music to truly avoid ads?
Device Model: iPhone 14pro, iPhone 13, galaxy s24ultra
iPhones os: 17.7 galaxy os: android 14
Spotify app version: 8.9.74.535
Followed all of your “troubleshooting” to a tee, and still getting sponsored recommendations without fail 7 months later on multiple phones, & multiple accounts.
Such blatant disrespect to give paying users literal ads, and for what, because y’all think you can? Because you think we’ll just sit here and take it?
Anyone want to class up? We were promised an ad free experience when signing up for premium, they aren’t giving an ad free experience to premium members.
This is not fixed. I logged in/out twice. Did a clean install as well. I'm on android 14, pixel 7 pro, spotify app version 8.9.76.538
For other people still having this issue, I saw that I had Youtube music included with my YT premium subscription so I've been trying that out and enjoying it ad-free the last couple of days.
Why is Spotify calling this solved? They ask for screen shots despite there being a number of them, but they keep saying tap on ""what's this?" and I have no idea where that's supposed to be.
This is probably a drop in the ocean. I just wanted to post that this is the strongest incentive I have received so far to cancel my Spotify subscription. None of this is acceptable: The ads for premium users, hiding the settings to turn them off in the desktop app (why?), the responses from Spotify in this thread acting as if this was a bug. Manually curating your own music collection is looking increasingly appealing.
That doesn't work. That doesn't remove this. And that message OP posted is what I'm getting. What kind of tech company does this? Who says "you can hide them" but doesn't actually give you a way to hide them? I actually bought spotify last month to have a fresh music app, where I control everything I am listening to. No algorithm to push me sponsored **bleep** I never wanted in the first place. Sucks I'll have to use another app because this one is so ingrained with forcing me to listen to music and controlled by money, that it's defeating the purpose of why I downloaded it. Thanks!
believe i’ve already replied to this post but here goes again: as a premium member, the inability to hide this is frustrating. it is often that i’ll load into the app to play a song and because the banner loads slowly, it pops in just before i tap the song i want to listen to, making me tap something completely different. very frustrating.
Apple Music doesn’t care about you either. If you ever cancel your subscription with them they delete ALL of your playlists. I went with Tidal instead.
If it's a concert recommendation for an artist I listen to or follow, that's totally okay; it's relavent and I think most people wouldn't be overly annoyed with that.
What I hate is these damn popups on the home page the very second I open the app! Here I am trying to open Spotify real quick to get some music going to work or focus to, and then you slap my eyeballs with one of these distractions. And they're purposely designed so that you have to tap the small "dismiss" text. Tapping anywhere outside the popup—a gesture everyone is used to by now because it's fairly universal on smartphone interfaces—doesn't make it go away, which frustrates me every time because I still try that thanks to muscle memory.
And it would be one thing if these showed up once in a blue moon, but their occurence has increased exponentially as of late! Every single day I open the app and get one of these popups for some artist I've never heard of and when I've been curious/agitated enough to try listening to any, it's been music that isn't even close to my realm of taste and what I listen to on Spotify.
These are intrusive AF and irrelevant. "Sponsored recommendation" is a great way to skate around calling it what it is so paying "premium" users can't technically complain about getting force fed ads.
