How to stop spotify from tailoring content I don't want?

How to stop spotify from tailoring content I don't want?

I'd like to know how to do this on Anroid app, web player, and windows app

My Question or Issue

While studying/working, which is often, I usually play lo-fi music which is just slow repetitive beats with minimal lyrics. I ONLY use this audio as a tool to focus, as background noise, I couldn't name a single artist or song.

Because of this, it is very frustrating that most of my "for me" playlists and recommendations are just lo-fi, which I care nothing for. How can I solve this? I do not want spotify to recommend or tailor my regular listening to lo-fi in any way. I've seen 5+ year old posts talking about a Spotify 'private' session, but I can't figure out how to start one. Is this feature still present? Is it going to be a hassle every time I want to stop spotify from learning from my lo-fi session?

Please advise,

thanks

Hey @alilgoat, welcome to the Spotify Community!

Private Session hides your activity from the playlists made for you

When you listen to music that you want to exclude from your recommendations, you have to turn Private Session on. Once you are done, you can switch it back off from settings.

Private Session is available in your settings under the Privacy and Social section. Do note that Private Session ends automatically after 6 hours, or when you restart Spotify.

You can also go through this Community article: What is Private Session and how does it affect my recommendations?

Let me know if you face any issues while turning Private Session on/off.

To have a mode on Spotify called sleep mode. Whilst in sleep mode, songs can be played which won't affect the general recommended songs in your playlist, recommended feed, or AI DJ.

I only listen to relaxing sleep music/lo fi at night. I have no wish to hear these songs any other time but there, so why not have a way to segregate them. Almost like an 'incognito listening mode'
