I've dove everything possible to not get that ad short of going premium. I've tried every option on the downvote. I've gone to the artist page and downvoted. I'm certain there was even an option on the android app to select never recommend this artist( but I was driving at the time and more focused on that).

Hi I'm Adam.

Reason for complaint. I am a premium family member paying £20 per month.

I understand some of your podcasts have adverts, but you have just introduced a new feature making it infinitely more difficult for me to skip these adverts.

I'm contemplating quitting over it as it's a cynical corporate move to increase and revenue on a customer who is worth £240 per year to you.

There is a very specific Tescos advert for spaghetti that features a loud slurping noise, and as someone with sensory issues, it irritates me to the point I've considered uninstalling Spotify. I've used the thumbs down button every single time, reporting it as 'offensive', and 'unpleasant', and 'not targeted to me', and also reporting it as 'I just don't like this ad'. It still regularly comes up despite me reporting it at least thirty times.

Reason for complaint: a specific ad keeps repeating multiple times in a row and is louder than media

Name of ad: Dartmouth cancer screening, directs to "Cancer.dartmouth.edu/prevention"

Is it a visual or an audio ad: audio

Rough time & date of when you heard the advert: throughout the day, repeated 2 or 3x at the beginning, middle, and end of every podcast episode I listen to

Device the ad appeared on: Pixel 4a

Its OS version: Android 13

Your exact Spotify app version: 8.8.88.397

  • Reason for complaint: innapropriate language used in advert and its repeated over and over in the same advert.  Like they're 6 year olds who are excited about saying a naughty word.  It's annoying as **bleep**.
  • Name of ad: Business Without The**bleep**
  • Is it a visual or an audio ad: Audio
  • Rough time & date of when you heard the advert: Often, the most recent time was this evening 19:15 hrs. Young kids not even gone to bed and there's swearing going on.
  • Device the ad appeared on: iPhone
  • Its OS version: apple iOS latest
  • Your exact Spotify app version: 8.9.38.455

Reason for complaint:
The ad is too sexual, I have to close the screen multiple times a night when the ad plays multiple times per night because I don't want to be kicked out of planet fitness due to the ad being on my phone.

Name of ad:
Levis drip sweat.

Is it a visual or an audio ad:
Visual and audio.

Rough time & date of when you heard the advert:
Every night for the last month every 10 minutes,
3:30am 5.16.2024 .

Device the ad appeared on:
LG smartphone.

Its OS version:
Android 10.

Your exact Spotify app version:
8.9.40.509 .

What did you try when the ad plays:
Hitting the thumbs down on the ad every time, selecting every option of "I find this content offensive" "I've seen this ad too many times" This ad isn't relevent" "I just don't like this ad", I've tried clearing cache, I've tried restarting my phone, I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling spotify, I've tried installing pandora.
(Get the point 🙂 )
I really do not like the Levis drip sweat ad.

It is totally acceptable for the free service to have ads. However, the ads should be something tolerable to listen to. I have had a few experiences with really unpleasant ads so far, and this is quite disappointing for a company that deals with audio content. At the moment of writing this, there is an ad where someone is munching quite loudly on some food, and it's unbearable for people who have conditions like misophonia. I do not mind ads at all, however they should never be unpleasant, and it would be interesting to be more considerate to the users of your service. I tried using the dislike button on the ad many times, but it only led to me getting the ad more frequently, which is contradictory.

I've noticed when playing music on Spotify on my TV the ads are significantly louder than my music was at the same volume. I feel like the neighbors can hear then and it's annoying to have to adjust my volume everytime there's ads. Doesn't help that most ads are obnoxious to begin with.

  • Complaint: ad keeps appearing after I repeatedly downvote as "irrelevant for me", "content is disgusting" and "shows up too often".
  • Name of ad: pañales DODOT Bebé Seco
  • Visual or audio ad: audio
  • Rough time & date: repeatedly all over the morning, all weekdays. Probably would show up the rest of the time, if I were using spotify as well.
  • Device and OS: mobile, Android 13
  • Spotify app version: 8.9.40.509

All of your ads are too much loud, about double the volume of the actual content. Yes, in the days of television this was probably an effective tactic to get viewers' attention in between programming. But when people have ear buds and other devices *in their ears* it's actually dangerous. Alarming to see feedback in the community going back almost 10 years on this topic, and it has not been addressed at all.

Third party ads are often WAY louder than the music and regular Spotify ads. It should be a common **bleep**ing courtesy not to torture users with sudden outbursts 20db louder than the normal level.
