My Question or Issue
Since a couple of days, connect seems to have stopped working on my yamaha receiver. All worked fine before, but now I do not get any sound from the receiver. My phone can connect to the receiver, my receiver sees the connection (displays the track played, I can use the remote to skip tracks etc.) but there is no sound at all, and all tracks play for 10 seconds before skipping to the next track. When disconnecting and playing on the phone itself all works fine, and streaming to the receiver using AirPlay or Bluetooth works perfectly. I tried resetting the receiver,
the phone and my internetconnection, but nothing seems to solve the issue. Does anyone know what to do ?

Hello Eni,
thanks for your reply. Indeed, i checked on all sides for pending updates, but all devices incl. the AV Receiver are up to date. And we also checked with a iPhone 13, exact the same behave like on my Android phone. I really don't know what more i could test / do. Qobuz and Amazon Music is working, Spotify is not (anymore). Any further idea?!
Best regards,
Wizzibizzi
Hey @Wizzibizzi,
Thanks for getting back to us!
You’ve already covered a lot of troubleshooting steps. That makes me wonder if this could be a network related issue. Could you try to connect Spotify and the amp through a different network, e.g. a hot spot on your phone?
You could also try to reduce wireless interference by changing the wireless channel used by the amp, your router, or both. We recommend you refer to your router’s owner manual for instructions on how to change the channel.
Hope this helps out. Keep us posted!
The same issue on Yamaha RX-S602 last few months. Wired/wireless connection, firewall on the router off, Spotify is not working .
Things I've tried:
Verified firmware is current on Yamaha AVR
verified DNS settings are set to google's addresses (8.8.8.8)
Tried opening up ports on my router per a yamaha article: https://faq.yamaha.com/usa/s/article/000023593
IPv6 is disabled
The speakers are fine, if I change the input to my PS5 then I'm able to get audio
just created a pandora account to test and was successfully able to stream that to the yamaha using musicast so it seems like this is definitely a spotify issue
I have the exact same problem since I changed network router
Everything is connected wireless on the same router, artist and song can be seen on the screen but no sound
Net and DAB radio works perfectly, but no sound on spotify regardless what device I use to connect...
I'm using a Yamaha RX-V6A, with a Fritz!box cablerouter. The Yamaha has IPv4 and IPv6 active, and Spotify supports IPv6. I have absolutely no problems.
I had this issue and Yamaha support suggested I changed my DNS settings to google DNS ( 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4). I switched to manual in the Network settings of the Yamaha RX-V6A and set the Google DNS, and it solved my issue!
My router is configured with the OpenDNS Family Shield DNS, maybe this was causing an issue with Spotify/Yamaha RX-V6A
