Not receiving notifications of ANY new music by artists I follow

Bumping an older thread because it’s 2018 and STILL no fix. It’s amazing that a company as big as Spotify cannot get this right and/or they just don’t even want to bother. Also this is my conversation with their “help” desk

I am not receiving push notifications for the artists and podcasts i'm following to alert me when an artist either has new music, or when a podcast has a new episode. I have push notifications enabled through spotify and I have checked my phone settings to ensure they're allowed and I still do not receive anything. Just by browsing the community it seems this is a huge issue for many users that has been ongoing for over a year. Why do you even have this "feature" if it doesn't work? Please fix this, what's the point of following an artist then? And no, release radar does not suffice.

In the form of a text message? Push notifications are through the app, literally NO other app in the world requires your phone number to receive push notifications

I follow 13 artists

I got 0 notification

I just want the notification when they realased new music because it'll make everything so easy.

Maybe it's time to switch to Apple Music!!!! I'm sick of going to my favourite artist page and see he has released a new song a while ago and I wasn't notified!

Is there any official statement from Spotify? I can't understand why they removed such functionality without proposing something else. Pain in the **bleep** to have to check all your artists page I fully agree....

I'm following 3k+artists and get zero notifications via email. I was getting them at one time and they reduced and reduced until there were zero.

Apple Music new release notifications don’t work either. RecordBird is all we have now 😞
