Particular podcasts not playing

I am having similar issues with multiple podcasts. I have tried all the suggested fixes. Podcastsi regularly listen to. Do not play at all. Some podcasts stream fine, most do not play at all

We hope you don't mind us moving your post, as it fits better in a new thread. 

That being said, would you mind sharing with us the exact troubleshooting steps you've tried so far? That way, we'll avoid repeating any.

Since you mentioned this is happening with multiple podcasts, we'd recommend you perform a clean reinstall of the app on the affected device. That way, you can make sure you're running the latest version of Spotify and that stored cache is not leading to any issues.

If the above doesn't do the trick, we'd like to gather some additional info. Please send us:

  • The make/model and OS of the affected device.
  • The exact Spotify version you're running.
  • Does this happen across all your devices?
  • Are you using Connect to cast the podcasts on a different device, such as a Bluetooth device or smart speaker/TV?

I had performed a clean re-install of te app per the guidelines found here: https://community.spotify.com/t5/FAQs/Perform-a-clean-reinstall-of-the-app/ta-p/4746485. However, my podcasts still are not playing. I've restarted my device, my internet connection is fine and my PC is hardwired in. Still nothing is playing

Since you mentioned this is happening on your computer, would you mind trying to run the app in Safe Mode  to rule out any issues with your default settings and basic device drivers? If you're using a Windows device, you can follow these steps to do it. If you're using a mac, feel free to follow these. Give it a try and let us know how it goes.


If issues persist, please send us the info we asked for above, along with:

  • Did you notice if this started to happen after a specific event such as an OS update?
  • Does this happen when playing a specific podcast? If yes, share with us the link to it.
  • Does this happen if you open a different account on the affected computer? You can ask for the account of a relative or a friend to open it in your device and check.

Thanks for posting @AngelinaLucifina - I performed the same fixes with the same results you experienced. I can't provide a reason, however the issue seems to have been resolved for me. The podcasts that were not streaming now are once again available. - perhaps the glitch was more internal than user generated.
