My Question or Issue

When I play a podcast that has video on my Xbox, the video only plays for 10-15 seconds and then I get the 3 dot buffering screen and it will stay like this indefinitely. If I minimize Spotify and go back to the home screen the audio starts playing instantly, but when I maximize Spotify to watch the video it freezes after a few seconds. I've uninstalled and redownload the app a few times. This has been going on for over a week. Has this happened to anyone else? Any tips on a fix?

I think I found a Band-Aid to fix the problem temporarily.
Whenever you start to play the JRE podcast, If the quality of the video is bad it's going to freeze. But if you just keep switching back and forth between random podcast episodes, eventually one of the videos you click on will start to load and the quality will be nice and clear. When that happens it will play perfectly fine. I don't know why this works, and you normally have to switch back and forth between podcast episodes 7 or 8 times.

So I cannot choose the episode I watch? Sounds like blatant censorship to
me. I will be canceling my premium subscription.

I hope more are with me .

Once the video starts playing clearly, you can choose a specific episode to
watch and it should work without it buffering. I feel the same way, I pay
for premium, but hopefully they will be fixing this soon.

Hi there everyone!

Could you fast forward the video to a time past the 10 seconds mark and let us know if the video keeps playing or if also gets stuck loading? Preferably try this before the video freezes, say at around 5 second and try to seek further ahead in the video podcast.

We'll keep an eye out for your replies.

Hi Eni,

I tried fast forwarding to the 10-second mark and even further unfortunately this did not work. Something that does work however that another user mentioned is skipping multiple videos then returning to the video I want to watch this will cause the video to load correctly.

Hey @Nelson1107,

Thanks for the post.

We've passed this info on to the team at Spotify that is investigating this issue 🙂

We'll keep you posted here, as soon as we have more info.

Hey everyone,

We've been informed that Spotify are working on a fix for this.

We can't say exactly when this will be implemented, so it's best to keep your app up to date not to miss any development 🙂

@DedaR6, it would be best if you open a new help request thread regarding the issue with Roku TV, since it's different from this topic.

Cheers.

This is still not working. QUIT CENSORING JOE ROGAN for having conversations that no one else is allowed to.

Literally like everyone else said, past couple weeks Rogans video quality on my tv was crystal clean now all the sudden it looks like it’s streaming in 420p crazy how other ones quality is still good. Fix your app!

Live, love, laugh and listen to music 🙂

The Joe Rogan Podcast has now been completely removed from Spotify. CENSORSHIP!!!

Hey Guys,

I think i Just got it.

First of all - i literally got the same "Bug" or Problem...

Here's how i could solve it every time:

-----Don't Open Spotify on your Xbox -----

Shut down your Xbox and follow below

(Completely shutdown not just Standby)

Open Spotify on another device Then Xbox (Like Smartphone or PC) and Like or Download the Podcast. (Both worked any time for me)

Pick the Podcast you want to listen to.

--------> start your console and Open spotify

Pick the Podcast and tadaaaa... Everything workin' perfectly.

You Just can pause or play the video.

Otherwise you need to follow the Instruction from top again.

Hope it helps.

dude i get the same issue trying to watch JRE on PC, nvm xbox. its a universal problem and its still happening in 2023, spotify is just a trash platform that is low key being used to censor JRE content. i wonder if he even knows how his viewers are struggling with an inferior platform. dear god i hope he can get a better deal with rumble or someone who has a platform that actually works. this spotify issue is clearly due to spotify servers not having the bandwidth to cope with traffic, my connection is fast enough to download 50 gigs in like 10 mins, yet spotify buffers with 480p video. i can only imagine its on purpose, there no way u spend 200m$ to get joe on your platform and then no one can watch because of bad servers.. imo they bought joe to cancel him
